Seminars focus on getting through grief during the holidays A seminar for people facing the holidays after a loved one's death will be held at three area locations over the next month.
"GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays" is scheduled to be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Forsythe Avenue Church of Christ in Monroe; 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18 at First Baptist Church in West Monroe; and 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 at the White's Ferry Road Church of Christ in West Monroe.
The seminar is billed as a "helpful, encouraging presentation that features practical suggestions and reassurance through video interviews with counselors, grief experts and other people who have experienced the holidays after their loved one's death."
Topics to be discussed include "Why the Holidays Are Tough," "What to Expect," "How to Prepare," "How to Manage Relationships and Holiday Socials" and "Using the Holidays to Help You Heal."
Those who attend will receive a free book with more than 30 daily readings providing additional insights and ideas on holiday survival.
