River Oaks softball players honored

District 6AA of the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) recently released its 2009 Softball All-District selections. District 6AA Champion Prairie View Academy selections are Kara Burchfield, Molly Gregory, Mallory Hall, Caroline Oliphant, and Lena Kate Thompson.

District Runner-Up River Oaks School selections are Lauren Halley, Megan Long, Samantha Thurmon, and Jana Whatley. CENLA selections are Kate Dobernig, Toni Hickey, and Morgan Wampler.

Glenbrook School selections are Heather Heflin, Brittany Patterson, and Chelsea Wentz.

Receiving Honorable Mention are Victoria Billings and Leslie Spires from PVA, Amber Kovak and Jamie Ross from River Oaks, Brittany Kedrick and Taylor Coleman from CENLA, and Melody Hanson and Sydney Sutter from Glenbrook School.

Kayla Tyson of Prairie View Academy was selected as the MVP of District 6AA.
Prairie View Academy won the South State AA Softball Tournament and the MAIS Class AA Softball Tournament.
