The Monroe City Council could approve a revised collective bargaining agreement with the local firefighters union after revoking an agreement approximately two years ago.

At that time, the Legislative Auditor's office questioned whether the agreement that provided firefighters with 120 hours holiday pay annually violated state law. The Attorney General's office in December 2007 issued an opinion, saying holiday pay to firefighters did not violate state law.
