Story Archives: Hunting on D'Arbonne, Upper Ouachita refuges closed

Hunting on D'Arbonne, Upper Ouachita refuges closed
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Due to safety reasons, all hunting will be closed Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 7-8 on D'Arbonne and Upper Ouachita National Wildlife Refuges.

Only 1,800 acres on D'Arbonne NWR and 1,500 acres Upper Ouachita NWR are not flooded from the Ouachita River. These acreages are calculated using Monroe gauge reading of 43 feet and Felsenthal gauge reading of 81 feet.

The hunting has been closed because it is unsafe for hunters to be hunting in such a limited area.

For more information, call (318) 726-4222.
