Story Archives: 'Wild Friday' moved to Visitor Center

'Wild Friday' moved to Visitor Center
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The Oct. 30 "Wild Friday" Stories Around the Campfire will be moved into the Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge visitor center.

There will be a campfire of a little different sort and blankets for the children to sit on to hear and share stories. Costumes are encouraged. Roasted marshmallows and hot chocolate will be available.

The refugee staff says, "Don't let the weather keep you from participating in this wonderful fall tradition at the refuge. Some even say that the circa 1885 planter's house which is now the visitor center is haunted. There will be some unsettling tales being told beginning at 6:30 PM, so don't miss the fun."

Refuge programs are free. This program is most suitable for elementary age and up, but all are welcome. Refuge is located just north of Monroe off Hwy 165 on Richland Pl. For more information, call Gay Brantley at 387-1114.
