A "Hazardous Household Materials Collection Day" will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center.

Some of the materials accepted for collection include aerosol cans, batteries, bug sprays, cleaning solvents, paint, fluorescent tubes and bulbs, pool chemicals, electronic equipment, and automobile tires (six tire limit). All liquids should be labeled and in closed containers. This is a residential-only collection. No commercial material will be accepted.

Partners for this event include Keep West Monroe Beautiful, Keep Monroe Beautiful, Keep Ouachita Parish Beautiful, ULM Toxicology, Delta Disposals, and Opus Broadcasting.
