Deer gun hunts closed
Due to safety reasons, the Deer Gun Hunts scheduled for Nov. 7-8 on D'Arbonne and Upper Ouachita National Wildlife Refuges are closed.
Only 1,800 acres on D'Arbonne NWR and 1,500 acres Upper Ouachita NWR are not flooded from the Ouachita River. These acreages are calculated using Monroe gauge reading of 43 feet and Felsenthal gauge reading of 81 feet.
The hunt has been closed because it is unsafe for hunters to be hunting in such a limited area.
