Richwood takes on Rayville at home

The Richwood Rams host the Rayville Hornets Friday in a game that will go a long way toward determining who the district champion will be.

Richwood enters the game fresh off another shutout victory, their third in a row, last week. In the 36-0 win over Caldwell, the Rams dominated from start to finish. Richwood has now outscored Ruston, Green Oaks and Caldwell by a combined 107-0.

Senior running back Greg Hudson led the Rams with 123 yards and two touchdowns rushing on just 14 carries.

Quarterback Anthony Abraham connected with wide receiver Marceis Davis on two touchdown passes in the first half.

Davis made three receptions for 85 yards in the game.

The most impressive aspect of the game for Richwood was the solid defensive effort once again by Richwood.

The Rams kept coveted Caldwell running back Centarius Arnold out of the end zone the entire night. Richwood is one of only three teams to accomplish such a feat this season.

Rayville is coming off a 41-7 win over Loyola of Shreveport. Quarterback Phaquinton Lawson is one of the top athletes in the state this season and is averaging almost 300 yards and three touchdowns per game in district play. Lawson had 278 yards and three scores in the victory over Loyola and the Rayville defense pitched its own shutout for three consecuitive quarters until Loyola got on the scoreboard late in the fourth period of play.
