Monroe FD plans annual 5K

The Monroe Fire Department's second annual Fire Safety 5K Walk/Run will be held Saturday, Oct. 24, at Forsythe Park in Monroe.

Onsite registration begins at 7 a.m. with the 5K beginning at 8 a.m.

The theme is "Stay Fire Smart! Don't Get Burned."

There is no cost to participate and T-shirts will be on sale for $10 each. Trophies will be presented for first, second and third places in the men's and women's categories.

Participants may also pre-register at the Public Safety Center, 1810 Martin Luther King Blvd.
