Story Archives: Section of Forsythe Point closed off due to rising Ouachita River levels

Section of Forsythe Point closed off due to rising Ouachita River levels
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
In a precautionary move, the City of Monroe Public Works Department has closed off all of Forsythe Point to pedestrians and vehicle traffic due to high water levels. This section will remain closed until further notice.

As of now, the boat dock (launching) area will remain open. However, this area may be closed in the future, if water levels become unsafe. Public Works officials will continue to monitor the water levels in order to provide proper notice to citizens who utilize the Forsythe Point area for exercise, fishing and other recreational activities.
