The 2009 Northeast Louisiana Heart Walk will be held Saturday, Oct. 17 at Forsythe Park in Monroe.

The American Heart Association is looking for volunteers to help the day before and day of the event.

Volunteers will be assigned many different tasks, some of those things including:
— Motivating walkers along the route
— Hand out water to walkers along the route
— Work with kids in the Kids Zone in the jumper area, coloring, etc.
— Decorate the event site with balloons, banners, etc.
— Assist with tear down and clean up

These are just a few of the things that volunteers are needed for to make the event a success.
Preliminary set-up for the event will begin at noon Friday, Oct. 16.

Set-up for the event will begin at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 at Forsythe Park. The event will be complete and clean up should be done by 1 p.m.

If you will be sending volunteers for the event or need information, please send a list of names to Rachel Miller at rachel.miller@heart.org so that assignments can be made.
