posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The 2009 Louisiana State Championship Half Marathon will be held in Monroe, on Saturday, Nov. 7, beginning at 9 a.m.  The course is flat and fast, and certified by USATF.

Online registration is available through active.com.  Pre-registering on or before Oct. 28 guarantees each participant a short-sleeved technical T-shirt, featuring the 2009 State Championship logo on the front.

Finisher medals for all pre-registered runners will also be awarded. All runners are eligible for unique age group and overall winner awards.

Post race amenities include red beans and rice, and 'sausage on a stick' to all runners. These items are also available for purchase to spectators.  Toby Traylor and his Delta Blues band will perform live beginning at 10:30 a.m.

For more details, visit www.ovrrc.com and click on the 'HM State Championship' link found on the left hand side of the screen.  Early registration is appreciated to assist in the procurement of trophies, t-shirts, and food items.

Questions may be e-mailed to Greg White, president of the Ouachita Valley Road Runners Club, at ovrrc@yahoo.com.
