Monroe to host championship half marathon The 2009 Louisiana State Championship Half Marathon will be held in Monroe, on Saturday, Nov. 7, beginning at 9 a.m. The course is flat and fast, and certified by USATF.
Online registration is available through active.com. Pre-registering on or before Oct. 28 guarantees each participant a short-sleeved technical T-shirt, featuring the 2009 State Championship logo on the front.
Finisher medals for all pre-registered runners will also be awarded. All runners are eligible for unique age group and overall winner awards.
Post race amenities include red beans and rice, and 'sausage on a stick' to all runners. These items are also available for purchase to spectators. Toby Traylor and his Delta Blues band will perform live beginning at 10:30 a.m.
