Following a 37-16 pasting of previously unbeaten cross-town rival Carroll, Neville enjoys a bye this week before battling Ruston at Ruston on Oct. 9 in a key District 3-4A match-up.

Last week was homecoming week for the Tigers (3-1) who scored early and often en route to racking up 14 first downs and more than 220 yards rushing in the win over Carroll.

Quarterback Taylor Burch scampered 11 yards for Neville's first touchdown in the contest, but a pass on a two-point conversion attempt failed.

With less than 30 seconds remaining in the first quarter Burch connected with Jeremy Runner on a 26-yard scoring strike. Taylor Stokes hauled in a catch from Runner for the two-point conversion, giving Neville a 22-0 advantage at the end of one quarter of play.
The Tigers added two more scores in the first half.

With 10:08 remaining in the second quarter, Tyler Buford scored from 3 yards out. Squyres added the PAT.

Less than two minutes later, Runner added a touchdown on a 15-yard run, but the PAT failed.

Neville capped off its scoring with Squyres' 25-yard field goal with 10:10 remaining in the fourth.

Carroll didn't get on the board until the fourth quarter when Jamond Collins hit Josh Tarver for 53-yard touchdown. Pierre Martin punched in Carroll's two-point conversion.

Collins added a touchdown on a 3-yard run for another Carroll score while Greg Davis ran for two.

Pollard was named offensive player of the game for Neville while the Tiger defensive unit as whole earned defensive player of the game honors. Squyres was recognized for his on special teams.
