Tech plans workshop Small business owners will have an opportunity to learn how to receive federal funding for research from a former U.S. Department of Energy program manager at a Tuesday, Sept. 29 workshop.
It will be led by Dr. Robert Berger, who will explain how to understand the government's research priorities, demonstrate a business' ability to produce an effective solution and present a proposal that gains funding.
The workshop will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Louisiana Tech's Technology Transfer Center in Shreveport. In addition to hearing from Berger, participants will have a chance to network with organizations and individuals throughout the region and improve their chances of securing Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer funds for business startup.
Participants receive one day of training, a copy of the training manual and lunch. Payment for the event is $75 before Monday, Sept. 14 and $90 after. The cost for university faculty, staff and students who register by Sept. 14 is $25 and $35 after.
