Library hosts fruit tree class this Thursday

The Louise Williams Branch Library will host the free program, "Fall Fruit Tree Planting," at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27. Master Gardener Jim Turner will talk about fruit trees that grow best in the North Louisiana climate and soil, planting procedures, and care of the young trees. The library is located at 140 Bayou Oaks Drive in Swartz.

Turner, who has more than 20 years of experience in gardening and landscaping in North Louisiana, has presented about 10 programs on topics in those areas at OPPL branch libraries. He is currently associated with Plant It Green and Academy Sports and Outdoors in West Monroe .
