Fourth District Judge Wendell Manning was recently sworn in as president of the Louisiana Center for Law and Civic Education by Chief Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court, Kitty Kimball.

He has also been appointed to the state Steering Committee for Access to Justice, composed of representatives from the state bare and judiciary, for the purpose of addressing the public's access to the courts, particularly those who are indigent.

The Louisiana Center for Lan and Civic Education, the educational partner of the Louisiana State Bar Association, promotes the practical understanding of and respect for the law. The center is a non-profit organization that coordinates, implements and develops civics and law related education programs for use throughout the state's elementary, middle and high schools.
