Calhoun church to host golf fundraiser Sept. 12 First Baptist Church of Calhoun will host their "Swinging For Missions" golf event at Calvert Crossing Golf Club in Calhoun on Saturday, Sept. 12.
Warm-up begins at noon with a tee time of 1 p.m.
Teams can register from now until Sept. 1 by sending entries to FBCC, P.O. Box 430, Calhoun, LA 71225 with a cost of $400 per team. Checks payable to FBCC are acceptable. Tournament proceeds will benefit church endeavors in reaching needy families in Ouachita Parish, Hackberry in South Louisiana, West Virginia, Mexico and Brazil.
The tournament will be a four-man scramble format and the team handicap must not be below 40. Each team must have at least one player with a handicap of six or below. Officials ask that all participants wear proper golf attire and no card carrying professional golfers should enter with a team.
A full day of food and fun is planned in conjunction with the day of golf at Calvert Crossing.
Soft spike shoes only will be allowed. Muligans are available to golfers upon sign-in the day of the tournament.
