Saturday night game still can't be beat

I watched the Bucket List for the 10th time last week.

The list is still the same.

So I got to wondering —what would be my Bucket List? Or better yet, what would I advise someone to put down for their Bucket List?

The second five are events I would love to attend. The top five are events I recommend to other sports fans.

At No. 10 is a baseball game at Fenway Park in Boston. Make it against the Yankees and I would be happy with missing out on the rest of the list.

At. No 9 is a baseball game at Wrigley Field. Talk about history. Talk about great fans. And what fun it would be to chime in on Take Me Out to the Ballgame (unless you are sitting next to me).

At No. 8 is a trip to Lambeau Field in Green Bay in December. It may take me a week to thaw out and tell you about it, but the memories would last forever.

At No. 7 is sitting among the crazies in Cameron Indoor Stadium as Duke faces North Carolina. It would probably be tough to watch the game from having to see what those crazy Duke students are doing. Then again, this is Duke versus North Carolina.

At No. 6 is a trip to Florida Field to watch the Gators against LSU. I can handle the gator chop a lot better than hearing Rocky Top played a thousand times.

And now for events I recommend from the experience.

At No. 5 is a baseball game at Turner Field in Atlanta, Ga. The music, lights and graphics never let up. And the baseball is usually entertaining. Word of advice — take Marta at your own risk.

At No. 4 is an Alcorn State versus Jackson State football game at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The halftime will be something you will be talking about for days with Alcorn's Sounds of Dy-No-Mite taking on JSU's Sonic Boom of the South in a battle just as heated as the football game. Then again, when you had Steve McNair passing and running for Alcorn while Jimmy Smith was catching the ball for JSU, the atmosphere was some kind of electric.

At No. 3 is going to Oxford to watch the Rebels face Mississippi State. The Grove is everything it's put up to be. And now the football is back to where it used to be when Archie became a legend.

At No. 2

I haven't been to an LSU baseball game at the new Alex Box, but the fun of the old one has me longing to get back.

And No. 1.

LSU against a ranked opponent on a Saturday NIGHT. But spend the whole day on campus. Be sure to bring a chair because from walking to the Union to walking to a fast food restaurant to walking to hear the band warm up, those puppies are going to be screaming. But you won't be able to hear them once the band comes down Victory Hill.

Contrary to nationwide belief, you don't have to partake in the spirits to enjoy game day in Baton Rouge.
