Plum Creek recently announced that West Monroe High School graduate Brittany Black has been awarded a $2,000 college scholarship.

Winners are chosen based on excellence in the areas of academics, school and community activities, and overall achievement in their high school careers.

Black was an active member of her high school community, participating in various church activities, including the West Monroe Rebel Choir.

Black plans to attend the University of Louisiana-Monroe, where she will major in kinesiology.

Plum Creek has awarded a total of $141,000 in scholarship money to students across the country this year through the Plum Creek Community Scholarship Program.
