Seller, Hattaway exchange vows at Lake D'Arbonne
 Christa Malia Hattaway and Jerry Dean Sellers exchanged marriage vows at 4 p.m. June 13, 2009, at the D'Arbonne Chapel on Lake D'Arbonne in Farmerville. The Rev. Bob Witt officiated the double ring ceremony.
Parents of the bride are Chris and Mary Hattaway of Calhoun. She is the granddaughter of Webster and Marie Hattaway of Calhoun and the late David and Geneva Dukes of West Monroe.
The groom is the son of Tim Sellers of Marion and Donna Procell of Vixon. He is the grandson of John Paul and Lou Dell Reiger of Calhoun and the late Clyde and Madis Sellers of Monroe.
Given in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant ivory gown with a halter bodice and an empire satin band of cornflower blue embellished with beautiful beading. The beading continued down the front then along the cornflower blue band around the bottom of the gown and continued up the flowing train and to the corset closure. Her fingertip two-layer veil was adorned with silk trim. The bride's bouquet was made of various blue and white flowers with white roses and white ribbon streamers.
Amanda Hattaway of Collinston served as the matron of honor. Flower girl Hailey Sellers, the groom's niece, sprinkled white rose pedals down the aisle while Baby Zara Hathaway, the bride's niece, was also a honorary flower girl. Katie Taylor graciously carried the bride's train. All of the bride's attendants wore empire style dresses of cornflower blue with the sash and overlaid bodice of sparkled blue organza. Their bouquets were of various blue flowers with white and ivory flowers arranged to look like a puppy in the center.
Ricky Braizer of Calhoun, served as the best man. Hunter Meeks of Collinston was the ring bearer. The groom, best man, and father of the bride wore black tuxedos with cornflower blue vests and neckties accented with blue and white boutonnieres. The ring bearer also wore a blue vest and bowtie.
As the guests gathered, they received programs of many chosen scriptures of marriage and enjoyed the sounds of beautiful love songs sang by Wesley Hattaway. The best man and the groom entered the chapel area from the lake by boat and took their places. The ceremony began with the music of "Going to the Chapel" as the mothers of the groom and bride made their way down the aisle to light the single candles of the unity candles. They were followed by the wedding party. The bride was escorted to her groom to the song of "Stealing Cinderella" by her father. Along with her veil, she wore a Cinderella tiara with baby's breath, as she holds titles including LA State Cinderella Baby for 1990 and will always be father's Cinderella Baby.
The wedding reception followed the ceremony at the chapel on the lake where guests enjoyed a buffet, cakes and punch. The tables were covered with blue overlaid with ivory lace. The center pieces were of various blue and white flowers that were made to look like puppy dogs. The bride's table was blue overlaid with sparkled organza. The wedding cake was a three-tier columned cake with white and blue roses, accented with a western bride and groom and horseshoe. The groom's table was blue encircled with white roses and the groom's cake was a huge catfish. Fellowship and socializing was enjoyed by all.
The couple made their exit by diving into the lake for a cool swim before boarding the boat. The couple will make the home in Marion. |
