Funeral services for Mrs. Helen M. Thomas Barnett, 102, of West Monroe, were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe with Dr. Jerry Edmondson officiating. Interment was in Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe.

Mike Crowley
Funeral Services for Mr. Mike Crowley, 54, of Downsville, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, with Rev. Nathan Thornton officiating. Woodrow Wilson Howse
Woodrow "Woody" Wilson Howse, 82, of Monroe, passed away Monday, June 22, 2009, in Monroe.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe with Brother John Dallalio, Pastor Daniel Goodman, and Brother Bobby Beshea officiating. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.

Bobby J. "Bob" Jackson
Funeral services for Mr. Bobby J. "Bob" Jackson, 79, of Monroe, were at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Lys Cockrell officiating. Interment was at Mer Rouge Cemetery in Mer Rouge.
Mr. Jackson, retired president of The Mer Rouge State Bank, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Mr. Jackson was a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School — Class of 1947, and a graduate of Northeast Louisiana University, where he was charter president of Sigma Alpha Chi and head cheerleader for four years. He served two years active duty in the U.S. Army, Military Police and retired with 28 years in the Standby Ready Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel.
Mr. Jackson was employed by Ouachita National Bank from 1958 to 1983 serving as Vice President in the Marketing Department and Business Development. He was employed as President of The Mer Rouge State Bank from 1983 until 2006.
Mr. Jackson's civic organizations include: President of United Cerebral Palsy of Louisiana, Inc., Charter President of Twin City Optimist Club, President of the NLU Alumni Association, Treasurer of NLU Booster Club, board member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, President of Morehouse Economic Development Committee, and President of Mer Rouge Landscaping Association, Inc.
Survivors include his wife, Gay McAdams Jackson; daughter, Carol Jo Noah and husband Elmer of Monroe; sister, Alita O'Dell of Sunnyvale, Calif.; brother, J.W. Jackson and wife, Betty, of Monroe; two grandchildren, Leah Noah Shows and husband, James, and Jordan Gray Noah, all of Monroe; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, "Pepper."
Pallbearers were Michael W. McAdams, Johnny McAdams, Mel Doughty, Terry Stockton, Tom Atkins and Steve Hopper. Honorary pallbearers were William Hugh Parker, Charles Ivy, Rick Sain, Jim Farmer, Richard Laird, John Becker and the Board of Directors at The Mer Rouge State Bank.
Visitation was Friday from 5- 8 p.m. at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Memorials may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church.

Billy Paul Sanford
Graveside services for Mr. Billy Paul Sanford, of Paris, Texas were at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Haughton. Tracy Williams officiated under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
He passed away on June 15, 2009, after a lengthy illness at 71 years of age.

Lois Golson Williams
A memorial service for Mrs. Lois Golson Williams (Mrs. A. D. Williams, Jr.), 93, of Monroe, will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, June 22, 2009, at First United Methodist Church, 3900 Loop Road, Monroe with Dr. Tommy Dunbar officiating. Graveside service will follow at Hasley Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mrs. Williams passed away Friday, June 19, 2009, at Avalon Place. She was a graduate of Mer Rouge High School, Louisiana State Normal College, and Soulé College. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, DAR - Ft. Miro Chapter, Twentieth Century Book Club, and Pi Kappa Sigma Alpha - Delta Chapter.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Dallas Williams, Jr.; parents, Charles O. Golson and Mattie Sisson Golson; and brother, C. O. Golson, Jr.
Survivors include her children, Joan Wallace and husband Riley, Charles Williams and wife Pattie, Susan Dunbar and husband Tommy, and David Williams and wife Peggy; eleven grandchildren, Rob, Kellie, Ryan, Mark, Kim, Amy, Laura, Holly, Jeffrey, Aaron, and Ashley; ten great-grandchildren, Jackson, Robbie, Parker, Avery, Dominic, Andrew, Emery, Sarah, Braylon, and Brandon; as well as other family members and friends.
Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 PM until service time at the church.
Memorials may be made to Ministry of Hope at First United Methodist Church of Monroe, Ouachita Parish Public Library, Hospice Compassus, or Alzheimer's Association.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Gwen and the late Charles Vaughn, Marcus Eichhorn, Mary Hart, Gladys Emma Murphy, Marci Hinton, the late June Strausser, the late Eloise Wyatt; and many relatives of the Golson, Sisson, and Williams families; as well as Avalon Place, Hospice Compassus, Aron's Pharmacy, and Internal Medicine of the Twin Cities.
