In a state loaded with college softball's elite, ULM sophomore outfielder Brianna Love claimed her spot amongst the best after being named to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association All-Louisiana First Team, the organization recently announced.

The all-Louisiana nod is the latest in a string of honors for the Garland, Texas, native that also features inclusion on the All-Sun Belt Conference First Team, the Sun Belt Conference All-Tournament Team, and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region Team.

"We are very excited for Brianna to get another award," ULM head coach Rosemary Holloway-Hill said. "I think it is obvious to the people across our conference and region that she is one of the top players and brings it every day. She is very deserving and I am very excited for her."

Love led or shared the lead for the Warhawks in 10 offensive categories including batting average, home runs, RBI, runs scored, walks, stolen bases, triples and doubles.

In addition to leading the team in several offensive categories, Love made a major dent in the Warhawk record book as a sophomore.

Her .378 batting average on the season finished mere thousandths of a percentage behind Brenda Dawson and sixth place on the single season hitting clip. Love's 18 career home runs move her into sixth place on the all-time list and her 54 career RBI are nine behind the all-time top 10.

Louisiana-Lafayette's Donna Bourgeois took home top pitcher honors while Louisiana Tech's Amberly Waits was named top hitter. Tim Whitman of Louisiana College garnered Coach of the Year honors.
