Monroe's Peak Performance Track Club picked up wins in 16 different events at the 2009 Peak Performance Track Classic held last weekend at ULM's Grossclose Track.

Ashia Mitchell from Peak Performance won the 8 & under long jump division with a jump of 2.46 meters.

In the 11-12 year old discus division, Aubrey Gamble also won with a throw of 11.17 meters for the hometown club.

Gamble also won the 1,500 meter walk with a time of 11:50 minutes. Gamble and Jennifer Goss, who won the 17-19 year old discus and javelin events, were the only multiple event winners for Peak Performance on the girls side.

Raja Lewis won the 13-14 year old shot-put girls event with a throw of 8.73 meters. The 15-16 year old girls 400-meter dash was won by Peak Performance runner Allison Sparks Saturday afternoon.

Peak Performance's Catherine Buchan won the Girls 15-16 Javelin throw with a throw of 23.06 meters.

Dilliondrio Hargrove was another local talent to win an event with a 15.9 second finish in the 17-18 year old 100m hurdle event.

Coleen Butler won the pole vault event in the 17-19 year old division for Peak Performance after clearing the bar at 3.35 meters.

The same age group saw Monroe's Alexis Guice win the shot put competition with a throw of 10.4 meters.

Michael Wood brought home the gold for the Monroe club in the boys 1500 meter walk after a time of 11:22.21 minutes.

The boys 11-12 year old discus event ended with Monroe's Kyle Davis winning with a best throw of 14.98 meters.

Ahkeem Henderson was the lone boys' star to win two events from Peak Performance. Henderson took first-place in the 13-14 year old division of both the 100 meter and 200 meter races.

Ethan Gremillion of Monroe won the javeline throw of that same division after a best throw of 33.37 meters to close out the gold medal count at 16 for the Monroe-based Peak Performance Track Club.
