Mrs. Jeffie Hope (Robeaux) Battaglia, 90, of Edmond, Okla., and formerly of Monroe, were at 2 p.m. Friday, June 5, at Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church, with Rev. Weldon Bares, Rev. Joe Solomon, and Rev. Betty Swanson officiating. Interment was at Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Anthony T. Battaglia; and brother, Johnny Robeaux.
Survivors include her brother, William A. Robeaux and wife, Betty; sister-in-law, Mary Robeaux; nieces, Michelle Friedel and husband, George, and Judy Bowyer and husband, Steve; three nephews, John A. Robeaux and wife, Becky, James Wayne Robeaux and wife, Rebecca, and John Robeaux and wife, LaDonna; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Timothy Ellis Bishop
Mr. Timothy Ellis "Tim" Bishop, 55, of Monroe, passed away Monday, June 1, 2009.
His funeral was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe, with Msgr. Edmund Moore officiating. Interment followed at Mulhearn Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Cindy Bishop; son, Casey Bishop; daughter, Brooke Bishop and her fiancé, Dustin Griggs; brothers, Bing Bishop and wife, Dixie, and Mike Bishop and wife, Carol; mother-in-law, Vivian Sampognaro; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Cara and Chris Sampognaro, Joey and Kay Sampognaro, and Kim and Frank Bruscato; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends; and his beloved Yorkies, Madison and Abby Gayle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Bobbie Bishop and his father-in-law, Joe Sampognaro.
Pallbearers were Corry Sampognaro, Chris Sampognaro, Joey Sampognaro, Justin Bishop, Duane Taylor, Mike Bishop Jr. and Brad Bishop.
James Burns Brossett
Mr. James Burns Brossett, 72, of Hebert, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2009.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 7, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Robert Jones and Rev. Bill Gueringer officiating. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Josephine Brossett; brothers, A.C., James E., and Joseph Brossett; and a special sister-in-law, Mattie Jo Brossett.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Mae Brossett; four sons, Timothy, Alan, Mikel and Paul Brossett; one daughter, Katherine Johns; three sisters, Lucille Henson, Ida Hernandez, and Elizabeth Britt; two brothers, J.D. Brossett, and Felix E. Brossett; grandchildren, Tosha, James, Timothy Jr., John, Candice, AJ, David, Brandon, Crystal, Shauna, Ashley and Chylie; great-grandchildren, McKaila, TJ, DeeDee, Hannah and Tyson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Gyl Rowell Dalrymple
Mrs. Gyl Rowell Dalrymple, 72, of West Monroe, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2009, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Jon Tellifero. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richburg and Lida Bell Rowell; and brother, Wiley Rowell.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, V.P. Dalrymple.

Mr. Francis Earl Devillier "Papaw", 84, of West Monroe, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2009.
His funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at Mulhearn Funeral Home with Fr. Frank Coens officiating. Interment was at Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leatrice Devillier; parents, Sam and Edna Devillier; and sister, Marlene Courville.
Survivors include his sister, Sammie D. Landry; two sisters in-law, Dorothy Mann and Gene Pickering and husband, Bob; sons, Greg Devillier and wife, Donna, and Paul Devillier and wife, Traci; daughter, Sherri Hodges; grandchildren, Mallory and Bryant Devillier and their mother, Lisa McNease; Michelle Devillier, Nathan Hodges, Mark Wesley Hodges and Nicholas Hodges; step grandchildren, Heather Yelton, Morgan Yelton, Jessica Moore and Gabriel Prudhomme; and great-granddaughter, Adisyn Grace Devillier.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Loyd Terrell Flowers and maternal grandfather, Alfred Pilgram.

Mrs. Catherine Marie Vestal Haley, 79, of West Monroe, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2009.
Her funeral was at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe, with Rev. Ray Jones officiating. Interment was at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Haley; son, James K. "Kebo" Haley; two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan Gilliam and her husband, Butch and Lisa Haley; grandchildren, Robin Haley, Mark Haley, Keith Haley, Casey Taylor, Corey Gilliam and wife, Brandy, Coty Gilliam and wife, Kelli, Justin, Joshua and Jeremy Womack and Chelsea Gilliam; great-grandchildren, Jamie Massey, Brandi Haley, Mallori and Malyn Taylor, Ashley Haley, Christy Knighten, Dakota Gilliam and Rylee Gilliam; brother, Wayne Vestal and wife, Elaine; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Flora B. Moseley
Graveside services for Mrs. Flora B. Moseley, 101, of Broussard, and formerly of Monroe, were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at Riverview Cemetery in Monroe, with Rev. Tom Lowe officiating. Arrangements were by Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley R. Moseley Sr.; daughter, Betty Hays; and son, Wiley R. Moseley Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia McMath and husband, Thomas; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Lester Edmond Owens, 62, passed away in Shreveport on Tuesday, June 2, 2009.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe, with Rev. Terry Lindsey officiating. Interment was at Cypress Baptist Church Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by is parents, Ivan D. and Estelle Owens of West Monroe.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Dianne Dahlhauser Owens; daughter Lauren and husband, Frank Galle; son Jason Owens and wife, Emily, and their sons Jason Jr. and Evan Owens.
Pallbearers were Reggie Owens, Bill Owens, WD Head, Morgan Crawford, James Dahlhauser, and Frank Galle, and honorary pallbearer Steve Owens.

Mrs. Ethel Reid Redmond, 90, of Monroe, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2009, in Monroe.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at Rowland Road Baptist Church, with Rev. Norman Bryant officiating. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Redmond Sr. in 1990; a brother and five sisters; a grandchild, Sondra Redmond; and a great-grandchild, Kelsey Sutton.
Survivors include her daughter, Glenda Jacobs and husband, Jerral; sons, Donald Redmond and wife, Carra, James Redmond Jr. and wife, Carol, and William Mac Redmond and wife, Linda; sister, Doris Davis; 12 grandchildren; and a number of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jason Sutton, Stacy Redmond, Lanny Redmond, Tim Redmond, Jody Foster and Mike Redmond.

Moselle McMinn Riley
Mrs. Moselle McMinn Riley, 82, of Monroe, and formerly a longtime resident of Hoover, Ala., passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009, in Monroe.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, June, 4, at First Baptist Church of Hoover with Dr. Randy Atkison officiating. Interment was at Highland Memorial Gardens in Brighton, Ala. Local arrangements were by Mulhearn Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester L. Riley Jr; and son, Timothy L Riley.
Survivors include a son, The Rev. Gregg L. Riley and wife, Carlene, of Monroe; sisters, Helen Pickens of Edmond, Okla. and Billie Thomas of Thompson, Ga.; brother, Wayne McMinn of Starkville, Miss.; granddaughters, Carolyn Riley of Nashville, Tenn., Patience Bradford of Trussville, Ala., and Leslie Walker of Birmingham; grandsons, Matthew T. Riley of Monroe, and Zachary Zagnoni of San Antonio, Texas; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Grace Evelyn Casiday Riser, 80, of Monroe, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009.
Her funeral was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Tommy Inman officiating. Interment was at Crowville Masonic Cemetery in Crowville.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Erbie Oscar Casiday and Henry Riser.
Survivors include her son, Joe Casiday and wife, Vicki; daughter, Carolyn Ciaschini and husband, Barry; two sisters; one brother; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Donnie Wright, Michael Wright, Dalton Wright, Larry Casiday, Lynn Casiday and Tommy Bingham.
Sam Wesley Taylor
Mr. Sam Wesley Taylor, 80, of Monroe, passed away Monday, June 1, 2009.
His funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 4, at Bible Missionary Church with Rev. Rodger L. Moyer, Stuart Hallam, William Whited, and Alvie Jarratt officiating. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Wesley Taylor.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mary Lou Taylor; two daughters, LaNelda Moyer and husband, Rodger, of East Moline, Ill.; and Carol Mayeux and husband, Silas, of Monroe; son, Paul Taylor and wife, Lynn, of Monroe; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Dwight Moyer, Jack Newsom, Nathan Taylor, Trent Pruett and Travis Pruett. Honorary pallbearers were Danny Neal, James McGee and Brent Mayeux.

Mr. Harold Francis Trichell, 77, of West Monroe, passed away at 10 a.m. Friday, June 5, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Father Frank Coens officiating. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park in Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Beth Trichell.
Survivors include his sisters, Azell Cain of Swartz and Fay Brown of Fairbanks, brother, Thomas Trichell of Swartz; and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great- great nieces and nephews. Mr. Trichell will be greatly missed by his pets; Natchez and Lillie.
Pallbearers were nephews and friends. Honorary pallbearers were the West Monroe Fire Department.

Mr. Richard L. Venable, 85, of Monroe, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Jack Phelps officiating. Special nephew, Pat McHenry, gave the Eulogy. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Jackie Venable; children, Roy L. Venable and wife, Mitsy, and, Janice Lee Venable Whidden and husband, John; grandchildren, Ann Dupre and husband, Michael, and Sally Ankenny and husband, Bobby; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas Anthony Dupre, Katherine Lee Dupre, Lucy Ankenny and Fletcher William Ankeny; numerous nieces and nephews; special nephew, Charles Ray Venable; and great nephew, Mike Venable.
