BATON ROUGE -- After winning its 10th-straight game to complete a sweep of NCAA regional play, the LSU baseball team (50-16) will face Virginia (48-13-1) in the College World Series. The date and time of the game will be announced Monday at 9 p.m. CT on ESPN.

LSU head coach Paul Mainieri will meet his former associate head coach at Notre Dame, Virginia head coach Brian O'Conner.

No. 5-ranked Virginia came from a one-game deficit to eliminate Ole Miss on Sunday, 5-1, in Oxford.

Like the Tigers, the Cavaliers have one of the nation's top pitching staffs.

Starting pitchers including freshman LHP Danny Hultzen (9-1, 2.09 ERA), senior RHP Andrew Carraway (8-1, 4.13 ERA) and sophomore RHP Robert Morey (3-0, 3.11) highlight a Cavaliers staff with a 3.17 team ERA.

Opponents are batting .234 with only 36 homers in 61 games entering Sunday's NCAA Super Regional final.

Virginia hits .328 as a team and is led by leadoff hitter, sophomore CF Jarrett Parker (.369, 16 HR, 65 RBI), and clean-up hitter, sophomore RF Dan Grovatt (.370, 7 HR, 5- RBI).

The winner of the LSU-Virginia game will face the winner of Cal State Fullerton and Arkansas two days later. The losers will meet in an elimination game.
