LSU advances in SEC tournament behind 16-0 win over Georgia HOOVER, Ala. -- Second-ranked LSU scored seven runs before a 4 1/2 hour rain delay in top of the first, then added nine more in the fifth and sixth to blast No. 6-seed Georgia, 16-0, and force another game on Saturday evening at the SEC Baseball Tournament.
The "if necessary" game will start approximately 9 p.m. tonight. It will be a seven-inning game.
LSU (44-16) scored its most lopsided win in SEC Tournament history and needs one more against the Bulldogs to advance to the championship game against No. 8-seed Vanderbilt.
Game 1 starter Daniel Bradshaw gave the Tigers exactly what they needed: a complete-game, three-hit shutout.
LSU's Nolan Cain is expected to start the second game.
Sunday's game was moved from 3 p.m. to noon CT due to expected severe weather in the Birmingham area.
