The 2009 Bayou Jamb Coaches clinic and golf scramble is ready to tee off May 29 at Southern Pine Hills Golf Course, The Hills Course, in Calhoun.

St. Francis Medical Center and North Louisiana Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Clinic will sponsor the event.

The 2009 Bayou Jamb football games will be played at Malone Stadium on the ULM campus on Saturday, Aug. 29. Oak Grove will play Jonesboro-Hodge at 4 p.m. West Monroe will battle Rayville at 6 p.m. and Neville will go up against district rival Bastrop in the night-cap, at 8 p.m.

The event will begin with registration at 7:30 a.m. and guest speakers will begin at 8 a.m. 2004 NFL strength coach of the year, Al Miller, will be the featured speaker of the day. Miller will take the stage at noon.

Both offensive and defensive coaches from some of the top teams and programs in the nation will be present to give advice and words of wisdom.

The goal of the clinic is to expand the knowledge of local high school coaches on strategies for high school athletes.

Registration is starting now and the cost of the event is $25 for the clinic and $60 for both the clinic and golf scramble.

Hixon Autoplex in Monroe is offering special hole-in-one prizes on Par 3 Holes. A 2009 Ford F-150 on Hole 11 is the top prize being offered.

Additional prizes include a trip to Atlantic City with accommodations at the Trump Hotel, TaylorMade Irons and Wedges, and TaylorMade Burner Driver and Fairway Woods.
