RMH's annual Big Bass Tournament moves to Ike

The 18th annual Big Bass Tournament on the Ouachita River will still be held this weekend, but all related activities will be moved to the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe.

Ronald McDonald House executive director Georgia Street said all activities are being moved from Lazarre Point to the Ike because of higher-than-usual water levels. This includes registration on Thursday and Friday, weigh-ins, the Jaycees children's program and all other scheduled events. Fishing will occur in the usual areas.

The tournament is the Monroe charity's biggest fundraiser of the year.

More than $100,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded. Hourly payouts are as follows: 1st - $1,000; 2nd - $500; 3rd - $400; 4th - $300; 5th - $200; 6th - $150; 7th -$150; 8th - $125; 9th - $90; and 10th - $85.

The winner of the Big Bass of the Tournament receives a 2009 Toyota Tundra Regular Cab Truck. Second Place Bass receives $5,000. Third Place Bass receives $1,000.

Registration may be made online or at The Honey Hole, Toledo Tackle, The Old Bait Store or at the Ronald McDonald House.
