Alexander S. Brown, author of "Traumatized," will sign copies of his book from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at Pecanland Mall in Monroe.

The author is a Vicksburg, Miss., native who graduated from Vicksburg High School. "Traumatized" is a collection of short stories and Brown says most of his work comes from his dreams, but some also come from reality. The works inspired by events other than his dreams are usually exaggerated versions of true events and everyday issues.

Brown has already written and released the novel, "Sweet Dreams," and he plans to write a series of novels chronicling the lives of residents in a town that is damned. He also has plans to pen a fantasy/horror trilogy.

Copies of "Traumatized" will be available for purchase.
