WOHS to host Tara

The West Ouachita Chiefs (20-7, 12-0) swept Neville over the weekend and will now host a Class 4A playoff game on Friday night.

West Ouachita won the first game over Neville 7-5 with some late game defensive heroics. West Ouachita then swept a double-header on Saturday, 16-6 and 7-6.

The Chiefs now are the No.6 team in the playoffs and host No.26 Tara of Baton Rouge on Friday.

Tara is the second-place team from district 7-4A in the Baton Rouge area. No.11-seed St. Michael won the district with a perfect 9-0 mark.

Tara has been on an offensive odyssey over the last few weeks and has but up 13 or more runs on three different occasions during district play.

Tara will come to West Ouachita on a down note after losing a tune-up game to Live Oak High School of Baton Rouge by a score of 11-5 earlier this week.

West Ouachita is battle tested after surviving three good games against Neville. They have also played Sterlington, West Monroe and Ouachita to prepare for the playoffs.
