Benefit art show planned for May 2

The Stroke of Genius Art Show and Sale will be held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at the Ouachita River Art Gallery in downtown West Monroe.

There will be a special display of artwork done by children and adults with disabilities as well as the works of local artisans who are members of the Art Guild. Refreshments will be served.

This event is hosted by Families Helping Families of Northeast Louisiana, Inc. and the Ouachita River Art Guild.

Over the past months many of the local artists from The Ouachita Art Guild have donated their time to work with the children and adults with disabilities to create their art and to enjoy the expression of their feelings through both painting and photography.

As a result, other volunteers have worked to ready the pictures for the Stroke of Genius Art Show and Sale.

All proceeds from the sale of the children's art work will go to the programs of Families Helping Families of Northeast Louisiana Inc.
