Family Promise of Ouachita, a new organization to help homeless families in Northeast Louisiana held its first "Oodles of Noodles: Pasta Cook-off and Bake Sale recently at Parkview Baptist Church in Monroe.

With over 13 church pasta cooking teams competing, a large crowd enjoyed many varieties of pasta dishes. A bake sale was also held and cakes and pies auctioned off.

The "Celebrity Judges Award" went to the B. S. Savory Shells Team from St. Paschal's Catholic Church. After sampling the dishes, the guests voted for the "People's Choice Award" and First Christian Church of Monroe came out the winner. "Best Decorated Table went to Cedar Crest Baptist Church of West Monroe by the C.C. Café group.

Family Promise of Ouachita is a non-profit inter-faith based organization dedicated to helping homeless families become independent.
