Bulldogs see all-state honors
Head coach Sheryl Madison was named Class 4A coach of the year last week for her work with a Carroll Lady Bulldogs squad that reached the Top 28 tournament for the fifth time in her tenure.
Madison has coached great Carroll teams before, but this year the C-Dogs went above and beyond with strong play up and down the court during a 28-2 campaign.
Twin sisters Alexar and Elexar Tuglar were put together once again on the Class 4A second-team all-state squad.
Alexar Tuglar averaged 17.5 points per game to lead Carroll on the court. Elexar averaged 14.5 points per game to compliment her sister's output.
Jeanne Kenney of St. Michael was named Class 4A outstanding player as her squad claimed a second-consecutive state championship this season coming out of Baton Rouge.
This is the first time since 2002 Carroll has had two girls players on the Class 4A all-state team, another season that Carroll went to the Girl's Top 28 tournament.
