Debbie Adams
Mrs. Debbie Adams, 46, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009.
Her funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Dr. Bill Dye and Rev. Marcell Crow officiating. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Lane.
Survivors include her husband, James Adams; two children, Cassady Lane Adams and James R. "Chip" Adams II; father, Charles W. Lane; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Pallbearers were Gary Taylor, Mike Hammock, Blaine Fontenot, Christopher DeMers, Jimmy Ratcliff, Randy Barnett, Randy Carr and Jeff Adams.

Mary Estelle Arrant
Mrs. Mary Estelle Arrant, 86, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 17, 2009.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, March 20, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe, with Rev. Eddie Shoemaker and Rev. Eddie Bardwell officiating. Interment was at Walnut Grove Cemetery in West Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Arrant; and great-granddaughter, Sara Beth Lenard.
Survivors include her two daughters, Virginia Lenard and husband, Riley, Connie Roberts and husband, Mike; granddaughter, Cindy Pike and husband, Mark, Sandy Lenard; and grandson, Brian Lenard and wife, Bridget.
Pallbearers were Mike Roberts, Riley Lenard, Brian Lenard, Truett Bailey, Justin Sutton and Logan Canterberry.

James Kenneth Baker
Mr. James Kenneth Baker, 86, of Eros, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at his home.
His funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at Clark Springs Baptist Church, with Rev. C.T. Smith and Rev. Mickey Hudnall officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
Survivors include his wife, Bess McAllister Baker; daughter, Diane Caton and husband, Carl, of Wichita, Kansas; daughter-in-law Diana Baker, Fort Smith, Ark.; niece, Marianne Sumrall of Baton Rouge; granddaughters; Lisa Phillips, Little Rock, Ark. and Teresa de la lsla and husband, David, of Houston, Texas; grandsons, Todd Caton and wife, Rocio, of Overland Park, Kansas, and Matthew Caton and wife, Cheryl, of Wichita, Kansas; great-grandchildren, Gabriela and Mateo de la Isla, Sydnee, Savannah and Carter Caton; and other family members including Malcolm Kuhn and wife, Cheryl, Chad Kuhn,
Woody Kuhn and wife, Ellen.
Pallbearers were Todd Caton, Matthew Caton, David de la Isla, Ray Walters, Earl Williams and J.T. Gilmore.

Wilma Ruth Brady
Mrs. Wilma Ruth Brady, 76, of West Monroe, passed away Monday, March 16, 2009, at Landmark Nursing Home, surrounded by her children and family.
Graveside services were at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, at Bethel Cemetery in Chatham with Rev. Marlin Betts officiating.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Bert E. Brady; son, Stevie Brady; parents, B.F. and Rena Oglesbee; three brothers, Carl, Bobby and Wendell Oglesbee; and two sisters, Arlene and Grace Oglesbee.
Survivors include her six daughters, Terri Hollingsworth and husband, Jay, Karla Pierce and husband, Keith "Pete", Kelly Harrell and husband, Eugene, Lori Tullos and husband, John, Ginger "Lulu" Searcy and husband, Clovis, and Leaha Hunt and husband, Bill; son, Jack Brady; daughter in-law, Cindy Brady; two sisters, Betty Rogers and Kathryn Burkett; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Shane Brady, Lane Brady, Beau Pierce, Billy Joe Harrell, J. R. Searcy, Cody Searcy and Tyler Hunt.

Paul Bruscato Jr.
Mr. Paul Bruscato, Jr., 68, of West Monroe, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009, in West Monroe.
Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 19, at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe with Minister Danny Johnson officiating. Arrangements were by Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Sr. and Claudine Mae McCain.
Survivors include his loving wife, Emma Bruscato; children and spouses, Mike and LeeAnn Bruscato, Pam and Frank Cordova, Suzie and Kevin Smith, and Paula Jean and Paul Cleary; sister, Madelyn LaBorde; brother, Gene Bruscato; grandchildren, Michael and Lara Bruscato, Whitney Hurt, Conner Smith and Jaocb Freeman. Honorary pallbearers were Todd Walker, Roger Conley, Reggie Nolan, Bud Womack, Don Caldwell and Don LaBorde.

Lonzo L. Burgess
Mr. Lonzo L. Burgess, 82, of Monroe, passed away Friday, March 13, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.
Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Monday, March 16, at Serenity Gardens in West Monroe. Revs. Roger Stoffer and Jerry Chapman officiated. Arrangements were by Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Burgess; two daughters, Cindy Dunn and Dean Neville; brother, Leslie W. Burgess; sisters, Alease Irvine, Maudine White, Lou Ann Trim and Ollie Belle Clark; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and stepchildren, Eddie Leonard, and Marsha Leonard.

Nell Atnip Sims Caldwell
Nell Atnip Sims Caldwell, 95, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009.
Her funeral was at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Survivors include her son, Sidney B. Sims and wife, Karen, of Sterlington; daughter, Mary Jane Troutt of West Monroe; grandchildren, Denise, Debbie, Keith, Katherine and Chris and wife, Dawn; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, Amelia and Gracie; and one niece, Judy Thornton of Houston, Texas.
Joe Joseph Costanza Jr.
Mr. Joe Joseph Costanza, Jr., 88, of Monroe, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center.
His funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 19, at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Msgr. Edmund Moore and Rev. Job Sciara officiating. Interment was at St. Matthew Mausoleum under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Costanza and Margarita Cascio Costanza; brothers, Louis J. Costanza and Nicholas Costanza; and sister, Annie Costanza Lewis.
Survivors include his nephews, Joseph Costanza and wife, Pat, Louis Costanza Jr., and Stanley Lewis; nieces, Margaret Horne and husband, Raymond, Vita Southern and husband, Lee, and Margaret Tarver and husband, Tommy; Godchild, JoAnn Crone; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Darryl Gregory, Greg Horne, John Southern, Tim Southern, Tommy Tarver and Russell Tarver.

Roger Mixon Floyd
Mr. Roger Mixon Floyd, 79, of West Monroe, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 15, 2009.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Calhoun with Rev. James Prince officiating.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charley Elbert Floyd; mother, Hattie Mae Luna; and siblings, William Elbert Floyd, Hermie Lee "PeeWee" Floyd-Sanderson, Juanita Mae Floyd-Smith, Cecilia Murl Floyd-Clark, Ora Earlene Floyd-Landry, Opal Maurie Floyd-Hunsiker, Raymond Anderson Floyd, and Wayne Luna "Skinny" Floyd.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mardell Lena Floyd; sons, Donald Glen Floyd and wife, Mary Nelda Floyd, and Jerry Michael Floyd; daughter, Tammy Delane Floyd and husband, Craig Gautreaux; grandchildren, Shane Floyd and wife, Debbie, Tara Floyd, CeJay Gautreaux, Lyndsey Floyd, Peyton Floyd, Micah Gautreaux and Shelby Floyd; great-grandchildren, Amber and Kaleigh Williams and Haley Floyd; numerous nieces and nephews; brothers, Charles Floyd and wife, Audlee, Paul Floyd and wife, Francis; and sisters, Maxine Floyd and Iris Grenier and husband, Don.
Pallbearers were Shane Floyd, CeJay Gautreaux, Peyton Floyd, Micah Gautreaux, Randy May and Charles Lee May. Honorary pallbearers were David May and Randy Evans.

Lloyd Keith Haffner
Lloyd Keith Haffner, 91, formerly of West Monroe, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2009, following an extended illness.
His funeral was at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory in Muncie, Ind., with Rev. Don Miller officiating. Burial was at the I.O.O.F./Twin Hills Cemetery at Pennville, Ind.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas A. Haffner, (wife-Dee), Houston, Texas, and Timothy J. Haffner (wife- Sandy), West Monroe; four grandchildren, Karin Olson, Spring, Texas, Douglas A. Haffner Jr., Navasota, Texas, Kenneth Haffner, Spring, Texas, and Jennifer Haffner, West Monroe; one sister, Beatrice Alberson, Bluffton; and one brother, Paul Haffner, of both Geneva and Bluffton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora in 2005; one sister, Dortha Whiteman; one brother-in-law, Homer Alberson; and one sister-in-law, Patricia Haffner.

Nina Patterson Hammons
Mrs. Nina Patterson Hammons, 92, of Dallas, Texas, and formerly of Downsville, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2009.
Her funeral was at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2009, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe, with Robert Burgess officiating. Interment was at Downsville Cemetery in Downsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey; mother and father, Eva and Mack Patterson; sister, Lila McClintic.
Survivors include her son, Jerry Hammons and his wife, Margerite, and her daughter, Sue Sewell and husband, Jerry; five grandchildren; Cindy Irvin and husband, John, Alicia Ham, Melinda Robert and husband, Barry, David Hammons and Sharon Marchand and husband, Rodney, three great-grandchildren; Adam Marchand, Victor and Sarah Robert; and one nephew, Jim McClintic.
Pallbearers were Rodney Marchand, Adam Marchand, Barry Robert, Victor Robert, David Hammons and John Irvin.

C. Lloyd Joslin
Mr. C. Lloyd Joslin, 71, of West Monroe, passed away Monday, March 16, 2009, in West Monroe.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe with Rev. Mark Fenn officiating. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Mabel Joslin and son, Chad Joslin.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Zoe' Collette Joslin; children, Robin Meredith and husband, Daryl Jr., Lance Joslin and wife, Angela, and Mandy Joslin; precious grandchildren, Anthony Meredith and wife, Bobbie, Clay Joslin, Joseph Joslin and Caroline Joslin; great-granddaughter, Natalie Jalovec; and brother, Donald Joslin.
Pallbearers were Anthony Meredith, Clay Joslin, Charlie McNair, Daryl Meredith Sr., Shane LeBlanc, and Shannon Dominique. Honorary pallbearer was Joseph Joslin.

Rick Knighten
Mr. Rick Knighten, 51, of Monroe, passed away at his residence on Saturday, March 14, 2009.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, March 16, at White's Ferry Road Church of Christ in West Monroe with Alan Robertson and Mike Kellet officiating. Interment was at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Knighten; daughter, Kassidy Knighten; step-children, Haley Byars and Scott Barnett; parents, Willie Glenn and Bobbie Knighten; brothers and sisters, Ted Knighten, James Knighten, Kim Haughton and Dawn Knighten; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Carl Idzik, Clint Whittington, Ryan Ray, Michael Knighten, Jason Knighten and Scott Caldwell. Honorary pallbearers were Mark Edward, Joey Accardo, Scott Strang, Gary Simmons, Kevin Welch and Kelly Thomas.

Martiel Pierce Lee
Mrs. Martiel Pierce Lee, 86, of New Braunfels, Texas, and formerly of Monroe, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2009.
Her funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, March 16, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe with Bro. W.A. Massey and Rick Massey officiating. Interment was at Monroe Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.M. (Morrell) Lee.
Survivors include her sons, John Lee and wife, Barbara, of Monroe, and Richard Lee and wife, Brenda, of Ruston; daughter, Betty Jane Lemmons and husband, Ray, of New Braunfels, Texas; five grandchildren, Chris Lee, Travis Lee, Spencer Lee, Megan Lemmons and Laura Lemmons; two great-granddaughters, Morgan Lee and Hailey Lemmons; brothers, Rawls Pierce and wife, Merle, of Crossett, Ark. and Gene Pierce and wife, Elizabeth, of Prattville, Ala.; sisters-in-law, Caureen Pierce of Crossett, Ark. and Judy Pierce of New Braunfels, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Dorothy Wagoner Pinton
Mrs. Dorothy Wagoner Pinton, 99, of West Monroe, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009, in West Monroe.
Her funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, March 20, at Cypress Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Eubanks officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Pinton; daughter, Floy Kilpatrick; and sons, Doyle Pinton and Roger Pinton.
Survivors include her six grandchildren, Ricky Kilpatrick and wife, Cindy, Monty Pinton and wife, Kim, Nicole Pinton, Jeri Rountree and husband, Glenn, Kyle Pinton and wife, Lora, Collette Thomisee and husband, Tim; five great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Janice Pinton; son-in-law, Ralph Kilpatrick and wife, Sharon; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Leon Russ
Mr. Leon Russ, 74, of Sterlington, passed away Friday, March 13, 2009, at St. Francis North in Monroe.
His funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, March 16, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Billy Brown officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Frank Russ.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbye Russ; son, Kenneth Russ and wife, Rhonda; two grandchildren, Kenneth Russ Jr. and wife, Miranda, and Amanda Clark and husband, Jason; and great-grandson, Brayden Clark, all of Sterlington; two brothers, Leroy Russ and Wesley Russ, both of Swartz; two sisters, Earline Reppond of Marion, and Betty Riley of Winnsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

David Ardell Sherman
Mr. David Ardell Sherman, 83, of Allen, Texas, and formerly of Monroe, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009.
His funeral was at 3 p.m. Friday, March 20, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Weldon Bares officiating. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his sons, David and Tim; daughters, Sherry Prestedge and Sandy Corley; two stepdaughters, Jo Ann Cain and Betty Ballew; and nine grandchildren.

Vivian Francis Wallace Welch
Vivian Francis Wallace Welch, 61, of Monroe, passed away Friday, March 13, 2009, in Nashville, Tenn., after a lengthy illness.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Friday, March 20, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles R. Wallace.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Levi McCue Welch III; her mother, Virginia Francis Wallace; one sister, Charlene Wallace Burns; one brother, Richard V. Wallace; one son, Levi McCue Welch, IV (Mac); two daughters, Deborah Renee Richards and Tammy Yvette White; and nine grandchildren.

Dorothy Dillon Whitten
Mrs. Dorothy Dillon Whitten, 81, of Monroe, died Thursday, March 19, 2009.
Her funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at Parkview Baptist Church in Monroe, with Rev. Terry Barnes officiating. Interment was at Serenity Gardens in West Monroe under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Hawkins Dillon and Mary Elizabeth (Mae) McKoin Dillon; brothers, William Hawkins Dillon Jr. and Thomas Polk Dillon; and her beloved husband, Rodolph Conrad Whitten.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Grace and Bob Bozeman of Monroe and Connie and Benny Chelette of West Monroe; son, William Conrad Whitten of Dallas, Texas; three granddaughters, Heather Bozeman, Molly Bozeman and Morgan Chelette; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy Dean and Norma Dillon of Baton Rouge; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
