Warriors to visit Grambling Lab
by Cody Futrell - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The St. Frederick Warriors (10-3) will begin district play with a visit to the Grambling Lab Kittens on Thursday at 6 p.m.

St. Frederick is currently ranked No.3 in the latest Class 1A poll released on Wednesday.

District rival Ouachita Christian School is ranked just above the Warriors in the latest poll as the Eagles are perched at No.2 this week.

The Warriors saw their 10-game winning streak ended at by Mangham on Monday night in a 10-8 victory for the Dragons.

The Warriors pounded out hit after hit for much of the game but failed to catch up to the hot bats of Karl Wiggers and Jeb Bryant, who got timely hits when Mangham needed to survive against the scrappy Warriors squad.

St. Frederick will be working to improve their defense and their presence at the plate this week with the beginning of the all-important district schedule.

The Warriors will be back at home this weekend when they host Bernice Saturday afternoon in another important district date for the Warriors.

The Saturday tilt will be a double-header as the Warriors will play two games against the Bears, following the Bernice trip to OCS on Thursday night.

An exiting start to the season for St. Frederick would mean even more if it continues into district play as the Warriors will again be attempting to dethrone OCS atop the district standings this season.
