Jacqueline Boyter
Mrs. Jacqueline Boyter, 83, of Monroe, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009.
Memorial services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 12, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Survivors include her sons, James Hill Boyter and wife, Rebecca, Jon Wesley Boyter, and Joel Greer Boyter; sister, Robbie L. Laborde of San Clemente, Calif.; brother, Ray V. Laborde of Ridgecrest, Calif.; grandchildren, Jacqueline Powell of Shreveport, Justin Boyter of Shreveport, and Hillary Boyter and Beaux Boyter, both of Champaign, Ill.; great-granddaughter, Taylor Powell and Brittany Powell; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary Jo Carlton
Mrs. Mary Jo "GeGe" Carlton, 79, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2009, in Monroe.
Her funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at Lakeshore Baptist Church in Monroe, with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment was at Monroe Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, B.J. Carlton; her mother, Goldie Bowden; sister, Geraldine Kinnett; granddaughter, Karen Leigh Ann Carlton; and great-grandson, Ethan Thomas Cook.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandy Tucker and husband, Tommy, of Prairieville; son, David Carlton and wife, Caryn, of Holden, LA; daughter, Jo Alice Olin and husband, Bill, of Monroe; grandchildren, Kristi and Jimmy Delaune and Kim and Smokey Cook, all of Prairieville, Matt and Carrie Tucker of Baton Rouge, Ben and Michelle Carlton of Walker, Amanda and Brett McMurry of Monroe, Cassie and Kevin Berthelot of Greenwell Springs, Angela, Andrew and Aaron Carlton of Holden; great-grandchildren, Connor Cook, MacKenzie, Jacob and Taylor Delaune, all of Prairieville, Joshua Tucker of Baton Rouge, Cooper Carlton of Walker, and Decatur and Ana Gail McMurry of Monroe.
Pallbearers were Matt Tucker, Jimmy Delaune, Smokey Cook, Ben Carlton, Kevin Berthelot and Brett McMurry. Honorary pallbearers were Barney Tucker, Scotty Barnes, Gene Ford, Lynn Fant, Hugh Vick and O.D. Korn.

Gerald A. Estess
Mr. Gerald A. Estess, 83, of West Monroe, passed away at his residence on Monday, March 9, 2009.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe with Dr. Lionel Crowell and Rev. Carlton Yeager officiating. Interment was at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Gertie H. Estess and his daughter, Brenda Kay Reed.
Survivors include his spouse, Mary Priscilla Estess; children, Linda McCalmon and husband, Bill, of West Monroe, Gerald Glenn Estess and wife, Bonita, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Ricky DeWayne Estess and wife, Julia, of Watkinsville, Ga.; step-children, Barry Gray, Cindy Hays and husband, Mark, Kim Washington and husband, Rick, and Jason Gray and wife, Amy; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; sister, Marcille Hester and husband, Ellis, and brother, Marvin Cloyce Alger and wife, Wanda.
Pallbearers were Rodney Reed, Lance Reed, Michael Brown, James Lee Brown, Bryan Estess, Joshua Hays, Ken Alger and David Keith Hasley.
Memorials may be made to West Monroe Dixie Youth Baseball Program.

Samuel Dolph Ferrington
Samuel Dolph Ferrington, 76, of West Monroe, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2009, in West Monroe.
His funeral was at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at First Baptist Church of West Monroe with Rev. Mark Fenn officiating. Interment was at Holly Grove Cemetery in Holly Grove under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Joye Ferrington; son, Sam Ferrington Jr. and wife, Sandra; daughter, Kim Booth and husband, David; grandchildren, Samantha Sumpter, Joseph Battagli, and Ashton Ferrington; great-grandchildren, Magi, Thomas and Judge; and brothers Bob Ferrington and Ronnie Ferrington.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners, Baptist Children's Home, First Baptist Church of West Monroe or St. Jude's Hospital.

Roy B. Gates
Roy B. Gates, 92, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2009.
His funeral was at 11 a.m. Monday, March 16, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. J. Roddy Taylor officiating. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
The many memories of a well-shared life will be treasured by his daughter, Peggy Corvin her husband, Stan; his brother Billy B. Gates; his grandson, Mack Marsh Jr. and his sons, Hank and Robert; his granddaughter, Karen Wittbrodt, her husband, Todd, and their daughters, Meagan and Macy; his grandson Kevin Marsh, his wife, Tammy, and their children, Emma and Kevin Jr.
Pallbearers were John Dugger, James Fuller, Don Hereford, Johnny "Bo" Mitchell, Billy Laird, Bill Lensing, Michael Allen and Todd Wittbrodt. Honorary pallbearers were Otto Nash, W.B. Hatten and Pete Aswell.
Remembrances may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church where he had been a member since 1957, or to the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum.

C.L. Hinton Jr.
Mr. C.L. Hinton, Jr., 67, of Monroe, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009, at his residence after a lengthy battle with emphysema.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Danny Hawthorne. Interment followed under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn C. Hinton; daughter, Kim Hinton Adams and husband, Jerry; sons, William Randall Hinton and Aaron Wayne Hinton and fiancée, Andrea; four grandchildren, Jordan Hinton, Zeke Adams, Jessie Roberson and Holly Adams; great-grandson, Blake Roberson; mother, Effie May Hinton; two sisters, Sylvia H. Wilhite and husband, Lilburn, and Elaine H. Boudreaux and husband, Glenn; sister-in-law, DeLane Hollis and husband, Benny; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jackie Norton, Jerry Adams, Dobie Mixon, Joe May, Glenn Boudreaux and Ray Newman.

Hazel Ellington Knox
Hazel Ellington Knox, 74, of West Monroe, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009, in West Monroe.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at Lapine Assembly of God in West Monroe with Rev. Gene Cumpton and Sister Mildred Lenard officiating. Interment was at Ansley Cemetery near Ruston under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ray Knox, a brother, Chester Ellington and her parents, David and Ida Ellington.
Survivors include three children, Donnie Knox and wife, Kathy, Glenda Dodson, and Rebecca McVay and husband, Freddie; three sisters, Avie Nell Murphy, Louise Bonnette, Betty Rigal and husband, Jim; brother, Gene Ellington; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jody Sepulvado, Jeremy Cousins, Jonathan Bedgood, Randy Dodson, Ronnie Dodson and Brian Underwood.
Honorary pallbearers were Austin Dodson, Christian Dodson, Kayl Underwood, Reed Sepulvado and Harrison Cousins.

Joseph Salvador LaSuzzo
Mr. Joseph Salvador LaSuzzo, 77, of Monroe, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.
His funeral was at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Msgr. Edmund Moore officiating. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Martha Scalia Lasuzzo.
Survivors include his wife of 51, Faye LaSuzzo; two sons, Dennis Paul LaSuzzo and wife, Wendy, and Ronald Joseph LaSuzzo and wife, Cheryl of Monroe; three sisters, Marion Slavant, Josephine Miller and Martha Snider; nine grandchildren, Lauren LaSuzzo, Tony LaSuzzo, Michelle LaSuzzo, Jordan LaSuzzo, Zach LaSuzzo, Kirby Buttitta, Christopher Buttitta, Nicholas Buttitta and Kam Buttitta; James Scalia, who was like a brother to him; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were nephews, Charles Miller, Clifford Miller, Kenneth Miller, Keith Miller, Bill McKinney and Merwin McKinney. Honorary pallbearers were James Scalia III, Bill Loftin, Jim Loftin, Robert Loftin and Steve Powell.
Memorials may be made to St. Frederick Athletic Department or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Joseph E. Levac
Memorial services for Mr. Joseph E. Levac, 70, of Calhoun, were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at St. Paschal's Catholic Church with Father Adrian Fischer officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in the National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta Levac; son, Robert Levac and wife, Kris, of Burnsville, Minn.; daughter, Michelle Herring and husband, Paul, of West Monroe; grandchildren, Kyle and Brett Levac and Christopher, Hunter and Hagen Herring; brothers, Roger and Mike; and sisters, Rollie, Georgette, Agathe and Marie.
Memorials may be made to USO (United Service Organizations).

J. Bryan McDuffie
J. Bryan McDuffie, 81, of West Monroe, died Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe.
His funeral was at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe with Rev. George Wortham officiating. Graveside services were at 4 p.m. Sunday at Lake Village Cemetery in Lake Village, Ark.
Survivors include his wife Billie Jean Spurlock McDuffie; children, J.B. McDuffie Jr. and wife, Suzanne, Jean McDuffie; grandchildren, J. Bryan McDuffie III, and Jennifer Barrett McDuffie; brothers, Dean McDuffie and wife, Rosie, George McDuffie and wife, Carol; sister, Connie Zintgraff; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Blythe McDuffie, Jack Dement, Richard Poole, Trevor Melnor, Dennis Rogers and Barnett McDuffie.

Robert L. Pace Sr.
Mr. Robert L. Pace, Sr., 81, of Monroe and formerly of Bastrop, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at his home after a brief illness.
His funeral was at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Dr. Whit Holmes officiating. Interment was at Christ Church Cemetery in Bastrop.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse James and Gladys Naff Pace; and brothers and sisters, Jesse James Pace Jr., Emory Pace, Clyde Grogan, Mildred Nixon, Alice Arant, Camille East, Pete Grogan and Joyce Clack.
Survivors include his children, Sharon Roeder and husband, Mike, of Sevierville, Tenn., Joni Snead of Monroe, Robert Pace Jr. of Houston, Texas, and Bryan Pace of Monroe; grandchildren, Zack, Pace, Amanda, Molly, Madelyn, Bethany, Jonathan and Benjamin; brother, John Henry Pace of Bastrop; and several nieces and nephews.

Eula Mae Reinninger Parker
Mrs. Eula Mae Reinninger Parker, of Riverton, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Lindle Stewart officiating. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her son, William "Bo" Parker and granddaughter, Hannah Diane Luffey.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, William "Billy" Parker; sons, Billy Parker and wife, Charlotte, Bobby Parker and wife, Judy, Chuck Parker and wife, Melissa, Terry Parker, and Gary Parker; daughters, Tammy Martin and husband, Larry, and Kathy Luffey and husband, Isaac; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Earlene Bridges of Monroe and Laura Messenger of Natchez; brothers, Hardy Reinninger of Oklahoma and B.F. Reinninger of Monroe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Johnathan Parker Coon, Caleb Luffey, Duke Luffey, Clint Martin, Lance Martin, Ryan Martin, Devin Parker, and Heath Parker; sons-in-law, Isaac Luffey Jr. and Larry Martin.

Clarence H. Price Jr.
A celebration of the life of Mr. Clarence H Price Jr., 75, of West Monroe, was at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe, with Rev. Waymon Warren officiating. Interment was at Clark Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. He went home to be with the Lord on March 12.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence H. Price Sr. "Red" and Juanita Price and by his mother and father-in-law, Lawrence and Vernie Clark.
Clarence leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Vernie Jean Price; two children, Randy Price and wife, Lana, and Leslie Purcell; two grandchildren, Shandi Conville and Dalton Purcell; two sisters, Betty Scharf and husband, Ray, and Debbie Plummer; brother, Maurice Price and wife, Frances; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Randy Price, Garland Meredith, Jeff Jordan, Bobby Lemoine, Michael Plummer, Al Hamby, Ken Brooks and Mark Brooks. Honorary pallbearers were Maurice Price, Ray Scharf, Ronnie LaBorde, Danny Bennett, Ben Brooks, Herb Peterson, John Jowers, Bill Tucker, R.B. Pepper "Pepper", The Encouragers - Clarence's Sunday School Class at Fair Park Baptist Church and Sonny's Soldiers.

Robert Edward Rabb
Mr. Robert Edward "Bobby" Rabb, 57, of Downsville, lost his battle with cancer at his brother's home with his family at his side on Tuesday, March 10, 2009.
Graveside services were at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at Mulhearn Memorial Park with Rev. Ron Lowe officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. Rabb Sr. and Mildred Tidwell Rabb Tolbird; and his brother, Jim Rabb.
Survivors include his three daughters, Angel Cowan and husband, Shawn, Robyn Renee Mizell and husband, Justin, and Crystal Craig and husband, Steven; four granddaughters, Ashlie Laren Cowan, Samantha Renee Craig, Catherine Elizabeth Craig and Breanna Diane Mizell; three sisters and two brothers, Fran Holloway and husband Roy, Mary Kimble and husband, John Harly, Brenda Carr, Joe Rabb and wife, Wanda, and Richard Rabb; numerous nieces and nephews; aunt and uncle, Clara and Vincy Tidwell; several cousins; and his best friends, Jeannie Parker and Suzan Troup.

Lucky N. Reed Sr.
Mr. Lucky N. Reed Sr., 67, of West Monroe, passed away Monday, March 9, 2009, in West Monroe.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Mona M. Reed; three sons, Lucky N. Reed Jr., Joseph L. Reed and Robert J. Reed and his wife, Shannon; and four grandchildren, Victoria R. Reed, Jett Reed, Amber Reed and Carter Reed.

Roger Stephen Riggin
Funeral services for Mr. Roger Stephen "Steve" Riggin, 58, of West Monroe, were at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe. Rev. Bo Horne of Asbury Methodist Church officiating. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park.
He was preceded in death by his father, Burton T. Riggin.
Survivors include his mother, Gloria Beryl Hatten Riggin; son, Anthony Riggin of Monroe; two daughters, Stephanie Beryl Rooney and husband, Brian, of North Carolina, and Wendy Michelle Ballesteros and husband, Xavier, of California; stepdaughter, Alfie Smith and husband, Richard, of Monroe; brother, Ronnie Riggin and wife, Pam, of Monroe; sister, Gloria Riggin White of Tulsa, Okla.; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers were T.J. Holman, Wayne Hammons, Brad Riggin, Joey Riggin, Jimmy Taylor and Floyd Allen.

Edith Griffin Rogers
Memorial services for Edith Griffin Rogers, 78, of Kingsland, Ga., and formerly of West Monroe, were held Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at Central Baptist Church in St. Mary's, Ga. She died Feb. 5. Arrangements were by Allison Funeral Home in Kingsland.
Survivors include her husband, Luther W. (Boots) Rogers of Kingsland; children, Kay Higgins and husband, Tim, of Kingsland, and Morris Lary III and wife, Lisa, of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Stacy Rone, Karen Reighney and husband, Thomas, and Michael Alford and wife, Dianne; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Lavern Rogers of Bossier City; four stepchildren; ten stepgrandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; two nephews; and one niece.

John William Wilson
John William Wilson, 58, of Columbia, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009, in Columbia.
Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Wilson; and mother, Princess Beatrice Dalton Wilson.
Survivors include his son, John "John Boy" Wilson; brother, Melvin Wilson; sisters, Frances Lum and Janet Rushing; loving aunt, Ollie Millien; uncle, Tommy Dalton; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
