'Oodles of noodles' planned at inaugural fundraising event
Family Promise of Ouachita is holding a Pasta Cook-Off and Bake Sale, "Oodles of Noodles" from noon-4 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at Parkview Baptist Church, 1001 Forsythe Ave. in Monroe.
Family Promise is a new non-profit organization in Ouachita Parish that assists homeless families by enlisting the aid of area churches.
Pasta teams will represent local churches as they compete for the People's Choice Award and the Celebrity Judges' Pasta Grand Champion Award.
Attendees will sample and vote for their favorite pasta. Desserts will be on sale at the bake shop.
Door prizes will be given out and there will be face painting for the kids.
Tickets are $10 each or $20 for family (maximum two adults and children).
