Altha Madeline Adams
Funeral services for Altha Madeline Adams, 90, of Monroe, were at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Norman Bryant officiating. Interment was in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Adams passed away Wednesday, March 4, at Avalon Place.
Survivors include her sons, James Adams and wife, Wilma Ann, and Jerry H. Adams and wife, Angie; daughter, Bennie Cain and husband, John; nine grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; sister, Myrtle Glen Poole; brothers, Nathan Harris and wife, Frankie, Chester Harris and wife, Jean, Monroe Harris and wife, Marguerite, and Paul Harris and wife, Mary Vonne; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty Sue LeCroy Boyd
Graveside services for Mrs. Betty Sue LeCroy Boyd, 74, of Monroe, were at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009, at the Delhi Masonic Cemetery in Delhi with Rev. Andy Myrick officiating. Services were under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Mrs. Boyd passed away at her residence on Monday, March 2.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse P. and Oma Crow Smith.
Survivors include her beloved husband of over 52 years, Thomas Mack Boyd; her son, Mark Boyd and his wife, Kaye, of Saucier, Miss.; a sister, Mary Berret of Natchez, Miss.; and two grandchildren.

Jenese Humphrey Boyer
Funeral services for Mrs. Jenese Humphrey Boyer, 82, of Monroe, were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. Weldon Bares and Rev. Betty Swanson officiating. Interment was in Greer Cemetery in Rayville. Mrs. Boyer passed away Sunday, March 1, at St. Joseph Nursing Home. She was married for 54 years to the late Curtis Boyer.
Survivors include her three children, Bonnie Fay Griffin and husband, Hubert, of Monroe, Janet Junot of Port Allen, and Kenneth Boyer of Bastrop; grandchildren, Glynnis Griffin, Crystal Grafton, James "Lamar" DeBlieux and wife, Brandi, Brandon Griffin and wife, Jasmine, and Lance Junot; and great-grandchildren, Clif Grafton, Lydia Grafton, Giselle Griffin and Joshua Griffin.
Honorary pallbearers were Troy Hughes and Ernest Eubanks.

Leon Buck Colvin
Funeral services for Mr. Leon Buck Colvin, 85, of Monroe, were at 1 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2009, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Lindle Stewart officiating. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Colvin passed away Friday, Feb. 27, at St. Francis North Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Mona Colvin; daughters, NeAlta Smith and husband, Don, of Riverside, Calif., and Sharon Johnston of Monroe; sons, William (Butch) Colvin of Monroe, and Mike Colvin and wife, Debby, of West Monroe; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Josh Helm, Jeremy Helm, Steve Williams, Mike Bryant, George Stadter and Richie May.
Memorials may be made to New Light Baptist Church on Prairie Road in Monroe.

George C. Easterling
Funeral Services for Mr. George E. Easterling, 85, of Ruston, were at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. Mr. Easterling passed away on March 4, in Ruston.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George C. and Ollie Sims Easterling; and sisters, Louise Roland and Laverne Rudd.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Colleen Parnell Easterling; brother, Dewitt Easterling and sister-in-law, Barbara; brother-in-law, Morton Parnell; three stepchildren, Doug Banks, Buster LeJeune, Anne Fitzgerald and her husband, Charles; a cherished grandson, Charlie Fitzgerald, and his wife Ansaley; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers were Jakie Williams, Jack Sanderson, John Lowery, Bo Boyd, Victor Hollis, Steve Moore, Eddie Parnell and Derek Pesnell.
Memorials may be made to Choudrant United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.

Lawrence David Fletcher
Funeral services for Mr. Lawrence David Fletcher, 67, were at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009, at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Dupree and Rev Don Fletcher officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Carey Fletcher and Minnie Mae Fletcher; and two brothers, Randal Peter Fletcher and Thomas Fletcher.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving and devoted wife of 38 years, Linda Fletcher; daughter and son-in-law Kerri and Bubba Harrist; daughter and son-in-law Robyn and Brian Blaylock; daughter, Rhonda Carter; brother, Don Fletcher and wife Fannie; sister Linda Salsbury and husband Doug; sisters-in-law Maxine Fletcher and Irene Fletcher; brothers-in-law Lavell Dodd and wife Vickie, Rusty Dodd and wife Theresa and Duell Dodd; six grandchildren, Brooklynn & Bailey Harrist, Taylor Antley, Drew Blaylock, Amanda Carter and April Land; two great grandchildren; several nephews and nieces; and other extended family and dear friends.
Pallbearers were Thomas Wilder, Jan Phillips, Theron Wyant, Chris Dodd, Bill Nevala and Keith Dodd.

Lillian Georgia Hatten Ford
Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Georgia Hatten Ford, 87, of West Monroe, were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Wesley Pittman officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe. Mrs. Ford passed away at her daughter's home on March 1.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Georgie Hatten and by her beloved husband of 67 years, Timothy Ford Sr.
Survivors include her children, Gail Ford Palmieri and husband, Robert and Tim Ford Jr. and wife, Amy; her beloved grandchildren, Katie Palmieri, Jason Ford and wife, Jodi, Andy Sanders, Matthew Palmieri, April Wallace, Timothy Ford III "Trey", and L. Gennie Ford "Lil Rose"; great-grandchildren, Aden Ford, Abbi Wallace and Trinity Ford; her dear friend, Relda "Bo" Butler; and her adopted daughter, Martha Yarbourgh.

Bruce Otto Groom
Funeral services for Mr. Bruce Otto Groom, 83, of Monroe, were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Monroe Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Marcelle Crow officiating. Interment followed under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Mr. Groom passed away at home on March 1.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Thelma Groom and six brothers, Orville, William, Mitchell, Wayne, Marlin and Donald Groom.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Groom of Monroe; sisters, Maxine G. Hall of Leechburg, Penn., and Willa Jennings of Midland, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard Alexander Hill
Graveside services for Mr. Richard Alexander Hill, 66, of West Monroe, were at 3 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2009, at Trinity Cemetery in Wilmer, Texas, with his brother in-law, Rev. Jerry Price, officiating. Mr. Hill died Monday, March 2, at Stoneybrook Assisted Living in West Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Hill; stepfather, Lee Hilton; and brother, Dennis Ray Hill.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Sue Hilton; sister, Suzanne Price and husband, Jerry, all of West Monroe, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bonnie Jean Holmes
Memorial services for Bonnie Jean Holmes, 59, of West Monroe, were at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul McComack officiating. Mrs. Holmes passed away Monday, March 2, at The Terrace.
Survivors include her daughter, Becky Holmes of Layton, Utah; and sister, Joy Thornhill of Los Angeles, Calif.

Brenda Susan Mason Hood
Funeral services for Brenda Susan Mason Hood, 63, of West Monroe, were at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2009, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Brother Jeff Luellen officiated, with assistance by Bro. Robin Roark. Interment was at Monroe Memorial Park. She passed away March 5 in West Monroe, surrounded by her loving and devoted family.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, George and Elsie Mason, Myrtle and Thomas McCullough, and Yeldon Tarver.
Survivors include her son, Dewayne Hood (Breanna,); grandchildren, Reagan Hood, Caden Hood, Brooke Whitehead and Lacey Bush; parents, Ray and Irene Mason; sister, Janice Dumas (Larry); nephew, Todd Dumas (Dianna); niece, Traci Dumas Payne (Dennis);great-nieces, Lauren and Avery Dumas; special friend, Larry McGuffee; an aunt, Gladys Hodge; and numerous cousins.
Pallbearers were Jared Smith, Butch Gilliam, Mel Shackelford, Henry Chriceol, Todd Dumas and Bob Dumas.
Memorials may be made to the ESL program or the Annie Armstrong Missions Offering at RABC.

Mary Elizabeth Killins
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Killins "Ma", 92, of West Monroe were at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at St. Paschal's Catholic Church in West Monroe with Rev. Adrian Fisher officiating. Interment was at Williamette Memorial Park in Albany, Ore. Mrs. Killins entered into eternity on Feb. 27, peacefully at home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Killins; her parents, and her sons, Don and Davey.
Survivors include five children; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mickey Plunk, James Morris, Donald Duncan, Bobby Killins, Dee Killins and Leslie Killins. Honorary pallbearers were James Pickering and I. H. Tidwell.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or St. Paschal's Catholic Church.

Sandra Pomeroy McSherry-Pires
Graveside services for Sandra Pomeroy McSherry-Pires, formerly of Monroe, were at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Calhoun, with Rev. Neil Everett officiating. She died at home in Weymouth, Mass., on Feb. 17, 2009, from complications resulting from an automobile accident.
She was preceded in death by her stillborn daughter and only child, Debra Michaela Pires; sister, Debra Pomeroy Ponn-DeMarco; former husband, Robert Morrison McSherry; and maternal grandparents, Olan Dean Tyler and Miriam Honey Johnston-Tyler.
At an earlier time, Sandy had expressed her desire to be cremated and then returned to Louisiana together with the cremated remains of her daughter to be buried beside her grandparents, Olan and Miriam Tyler. The Cremation Society of Massachusetts performed the cremation on Feb. 23, under the direction of Hamel, Wickens and Troupe Funeral Home both of Quincy, Mass.
Survivors include her husband, Lourival Pires of Weymouth, Mass.; mother, Maydra Johnston Pomeroy; father, Paul Allen Pomeroy; sister, Patricia Pomeroy Barnes and husband, Randy; three nieces, Lauren Ponn, Alexa DeMarco and Emily Barnes; uncle, Duran Allen Johnston and wife, Linda; and cousins, Kelly Johnston Greenwood and Allen Johnston.
Memorial may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home and the Ouachita Parish Humane Society.

Dennis C. Murphy
Funeral services for Dennis C. Murphy, 58, of Monroe, were at 10 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2009, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Interment was at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bastrop. Mr. Murphy passed away Sunday, March 1, in Oklahoma.
Survivors include his sons, Paul Murphy, Shane Murphy and Robert Murphy; daughter, Bonnie Perritt; mother, Bobbie Murphy Reppond; sisters, Paula Brown and Teresa Little; fiancée, Ying Wang; and 12 grandchildren.

Dorothy Pearl Watkins Reynolds
Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Pearl Watkins Reynolds, 72, of Monroe, were at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Weldon Bares and Rev. Joe Solomon officiating. Interment was in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mrs. Reynolds passed away Sunday, March 1.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bertha E. and Samuel E. Watkins; and son, Mark Anthony Reynolds.
Survivors include her children, Thomas Dwayn Reynolds and wife, Chyleen, David Allen Reynolds and wife, Blanche, Marilyn Reynolds Bryant and husband, Steve, and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Reynolds Cathey and husband, Tom; grandchildren, Erica Crystal Reynolds, Mark Colby Reynolds, Thomas Jared Reynolds, Bailie Jordan Bryant, Tyler Kale Reynolds, Thomas Jackson Reynolds, Mark Mattison Reynolds, and Anna-Beth Bryant; and siblings, Mildred Watkins Mosley of Greenville, Miss., Francis Watkins Mosley Herron of Searcy, Ark., Sonny Watkins of Greenville, Miss., and Kathy Watkins Kuhn of Olive Branch, Miss.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were the members of the Pastors Class at Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church.

Charles William Stewart
Funeral services for Charles William "Coach Buck" Stewart were at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Parkview Baptist Church in Monroe with Dr. E. Whit Holmes officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Ruston. Arrangements were by Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Mr. Stewart died on Feb. 27, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Stewart, his father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Taylor, and his grandson, Charles William Stewart, II.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 50 years, Patsy; his daughter, Holly Stewart Ratcliff and husband, Douglas James Ratcliff; his son, William Buckley Stewart Sr., and wife, Lynda Kinard Stewart; his beloved grandchildren, Taylor Anne Ratcliff and William Buckley Stewart Jr.; his sister, Billie Jo Whiteside; two nephews, Doug Kirklin and wife, Penny, and Joel Kirklin and wife, Dee; and his yellow lab and companion, Maggie.
Pallbearers were Dr. John Davis, Dr. Paul Davis, Dr. Mike Davis, Dr. Patrick Garrett, Tom Hinton, Doug Kirklin, Joel Kirklin and Dr. Nick White.

Riley F. Wilkerson
Funeral services for Mr. Riley "Bo" F. Wilkerson, 83, of Monroe, were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Tom Lowe and Rev. John Jones officiating. Interment was in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Wilkerson passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Fox Fryday; son, Gary Wayne Wilkerson; and son-in-law, Danny Schooley.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Vada Wilkerson; daughters, Dottie Swain and husband, Jake, of Calhoun, Joyce McNeely and husband, Terry, of West Monroe, Pam Graves and husband, Tony, of Calhoun, Tammy "Peanut" Schooley of West Monroe, Tiffany Jones and husband, Rev. John, of Alto, and Carolyn Waldroup and husband, Ricky, of Eros; sons, Randy Wilkerson and wife, Lauri, of West Monroe, and Kenny Wilkerson of West Monroe; 20 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mark Bennett, Robert Woodall, Charles Woodall, B.R. Netherland, Craig Bryan and Randy Wygal. Honorary pallbearers were Dale Rieger and John Paul Rieger.

Harold Edward Williamson
Graveside services for Dr. Harold Edward Williamson, 61, were at noon Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun. Michi Head, pastor of McGuire United Methodist Church, will officiate. Dr. Williamson passed away Wednesday, March 4, in West Monroe, due to complications in his battle against cancer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Ann Clark Williamson; his son, Jason Eric Williamson; and his parents, Willie Elzora Peacock Williamson and Clifford Odell Williamson.
Survivors include his son, Travis; daughter, Crystal Brakefield and husband, Troy; grandchildren, Kiera and Jacob Brakefield; and several close cousins.
Memorial donations may be made to the Williamson Memorial Scholarship Fund at the University of Louisiana-Monroe.

Huey P. Willis
Funeral Services for Mr. Huey P. Willis, 79, of Calhoun, were at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2009, at the Souls Harbor United Pentecostal Church in Calhoun, with Rev. Carroll Bushnell, Rev. H.B. Ward, Rev. Jimmy Masters and Donny Willis officiating. Interment was in the Aulds Chapel Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe. Mr. Willis passed away in Houston, Texas, on March 5, after a brief illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Willis Sr.; five brothers; two sisters; and one great-grandchild.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Betty Willis; five children, Sheila Billings and husband, Joe, of Oakdale, Sharon Garland and husband, James, of Calhoun, Diane Tyler of Houston, Texas, and husband, Terry, of Oakdale, Keith Willis and wife, Kim, of Lake Charles, Kent Willis and wife, Rhonda, of Denham Springs; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lonie Ashmore and Bessie Mae Bohannon of Oakdale.
Pallbearers were Dustin Willis, Donny Willis, Shane McDaniel, Gerald Nelson, Ray Willis and Byron Gary.
