Ray of Hope,
1935 Winnsboro Road, Monroe.
Ray of Hope recently opened a thrift store. Hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, with a closure for lunch from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday and Saturday hours are 9 a.m.-noon.
Thrift store proceeds benefit the many Ray of Hope projects, including a food bank on Mondays, disaster missions and much more.

Memorial's XYZ hosts picnic outing
XYZ (Xtra Years of Zest), an outreach program of the Memorial United Methodist Church invites the public to attend a tour and picnic at Black Bayou National Wildlife Refuge, 480 Richland Place (Just off of 165 North across from OCS School).
The event begins at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 18. Events include a devotional, tour of facility and picnic lunch. Attendees are asked to meet in the parking lot of the refuge or call the church for carpool arrangements at 343-3033.
XYZ meets on the third Wednesday morning of each month at Memorial United Methodist Church.
