Hundreds of sportsmen and their families from across Northeast Louisiana are expected to attend the Monroe Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association's annual banquet and auction Thursday, March 12, at the Monroe Civic Center.

"The Monroe Chapter of CCA Louisiana was the fastest growing chapter in 2008," said Rad Trascher, Director of Development of CCA Louisiana. "We have great leaders in the community as well as a great committee. When you put the two together you have a great chapter."

Tickets are $50 per person, which includes a one-year membership in CCA, admission, dinner and open bar. The evening will feature a live auction for some of the finest hunting and fishing trips in Louisiana as well as around the world.

"With donations from local committeemen, captains such as Greg Schlumbrecht from Lake Pontchartrain, and outfitters in Argentina, Cabo, Costa Rica and Mazatlan, the auction should be exciting," said Monroe CCA chapter president Shag Wheelington. "We will also have some of the finest fishing tackle and hunting equipment around, as well as art donated by local artists. And don't forget the numerous raffles throughout the night."

Special priced spouse/associate tickets available for $30 and youth tickets (17 & under) are $25.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with an open bar. Dinner is served at 7 p.m.; the program and auction begin at 8 p.m. Tickets and corporate tables are available by calling Ros Shirley at (318) 366-4911 or Rad Trascher at (225) 952-9200.

CCA Louisiana is a non-profit public charity organized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Through its 20 years, CCA Louisiana has successfully promoted responsible stewardship of Louisiana's marine resources.
