Gov. Bobby Jindal recently announced appointments to the Louisiana Serve Commission, among them Janet Durden of Monroe.

Durden is the president of the United Way of Northeast Louisiana and serves on United Way of America's National Professional Council. Durden will serve as an individual with expertise in promoting the involvement of older adults in service and volunteerism, as required by statute.

The Louisiana Serve Commission serves to build and sustain high quality programs that promote and support citizen service and involvement in government and private programs throughout this state.
