Softball tryouts set for Sunday
Try-outs for a traveling softball team will be held at the Saul Adler Recreation Softball Field Sunday at 2 p.m.
The 12-under group will hold try-outs at 2 p.m., followed by auditions for a 14-under squad at 3 p.m.
The team, coached by Jimmy Porter, will participate in tournaments across the state, including stops in Ruston, Alexandria and Shreveport.
For the first-time since the inception of the club, the group will be traveling to the Softball National Tournament in Gulfport, Miss. this summer.
"This will be our first trip to nationals," head coach Jimmy Porter said. "We are excited about getting out here and playing some ball."
The group welcomes anyone who meets the age requirements as they look to put the best product possible on the field for a chance at bringing the championship home from Gulfport later this year. |
