Richwood travels in girls playoffs The Richwood Lady Rams return to the Class 3A playoffs this week as they travel to No.2-seed Ursuline on Thursday night.
Richwood beat the Rayville Lady Hornets 53-39 on Friday night to secure their playoff birth coming from the incredibly hard district 1-3A.
Richwood was the third-place team behind No.2 seed Wossman and the eighth-ranked Madison Lady Jaguars.
Ursuline went 28-5 in their New Orleans district this season. Their resume includes wins over 5A teams like Ouachita and East St. John this season.
The Richwood men upended the top team in Class 1A Tuesday night, 66-55. Marcies Davis scored 16 points and Rydell Harris added 14 points for the Rams over Arcadia Hornets.
The Rams used a zone defense to control the paint. Kourtney Davis scored 22 points to lead Arcadia.
Richwood will close out their regular season at Jonesboro-Hodge Friday night. Jonesboro-Hodge beat Sterlington on the road Friday night and is considered to be the area's best Class 2A team at this time.
Richwood is in a position to finish in the top five for the playoffs and earn their own first round home game next week.
The boy's playoff begins next Thursday. The girls will return the Top 28 tournament to Monroe and ULM's campus March 2-7. |
