The West Monroe Rebels defeated the Ouachita Lions 55-46 Friday night in West Monroe to force a district championship playoff Saturday night.

A coin flip after the game determined the teams will tip off at 6 p.m. Saturday Ouachita's "Madhouse On Millhaven".

On Friday, Corey Lacey led the way with 18 points and Urald King had 16 points for the Rebels. Chucky Glass chipped in 14 for West Monroe as well.

West Monroe (25-6, 5-1) overcame an early deficit to top their district rivals. Nick Haywood led the way for the Lions (33-4, 5-1).

Ouachita had beaten West Monroe in three of their previous four meetings including a 61-46 decision over the Rebels on Feb. 3 at Ouachita.

Look for full basketball playoff coverage for both the boy's and girl's brackets in all classifications in Thursday's edition of The Ouachita Citizen.
