Gill teacher of month at Good Hope MIddle

Mike Gill, a veteran teacher of 26 years, is the February Teacher of the Month at Good Hope Middle School.

He has taught at Ouachita Junior High School, West Monroe Junior High School and now at Good Hope, where he teaches sixth-grade science. Other responsibilities include coaching football, track and field.

Gill is a graduate of Dumas High School in Dumas, Ark. He earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.

He and his wife, Susan, have four children and three grandchildren. When he is not at school, he likes to hunt, fish, and have fun with his three grandsons, Austin, Caleb,and Ethan.

Gill will receive a gift card to his favorite restaurant, a parking space for February, a certificate of recognition and a feature on Edline. Smoothie King in West Monroe donated a coupon for a free smoothie.
