Eva Costin Austin
Mrs. Eva Costin Austin, 97, of Bastrop, and formerly of Eros, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, after living the past year at LeGrande Rehab Center in Bastrop.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Community of Christ in Eros. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Cleve Austin, four brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews and their extended families, and by her special nephew, Don Costin, and his wife, Naomi Ruth, of Bastrop, whom she called family and resided with over the past 20 years. She also leaves many dear and cherished friends.
Any donations in lieu of flowers, may be sent to the church, in her name, for its cemetery fund.
Charles Milton Clampit
Mr. Charles Milton Clampit, 82, of West Monroe, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, in West Monroe.
His funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe, with Rev. Wesley Pittman officiating. Interment was at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens in West Monroe.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Arlene Clampit; three sons, Stephen Clampit and wife, Tracie, Paul Clampit and wife, Donna, and Jonathan Clampit and wife, Suzonne; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Greg Stewart, Gene Atchinson, Danny Glennon, Terry Glennon and Chris Owens. Honorary pallbearers were members of Mr. Clampit's Sunday school class.
Emily Viola Lee Crosser
Mrs. Emily Viola Lee Crosser, 87, of Sterlington, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009.
Her funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Mulhearn Memorial Park with Rev. Rick McPhearson officiating. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.F. Crosser; and son, John Wesley Crosser.
Survivors include her daughter, Shelby Smith of Tucson, Ariz.; son, Freddie Crosser and wife, Alice, of Monroe; daughter, Pat Hollenshead and husband, David, of West Monroe; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Ritchie Smith, Bill Crosser, Ed Hollenshead, Richard Smith, Keith Jordan and Robert Lawrence.

Edward Walker Dayton Jr., 27, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, at First Baptist Church of West Monroe with Revs. Dwight Munn and Darrell Washam officiating. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Henry F. Dayton; paternal great-grandmother, Nellie Little Dayton; maternal grandfather, William Laderle Fowler; paternal grandfather and paternal grandmother, Edward Walker Dayton and Margaret Delio Dayton; and favorite cousin, David Mark Dayton.
Survivors include his parents, Edward and Vickie Dayton; son, Cameron Walker Dayton; sisters, Amy Michelle Dayton and Christina Brooke Dayton; brother, William Brian Dayton and wife, Lissa Giggie Dayton, and their two children, Alison and Jackson Dayton; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Hazel Fowler; aunts, Mary Nell Caffey and husband, Greg, Tara Dayton, and Renee Fowler Sowell and husband, Kevin; uncle, Patrick Dayton and wife, Bernadette; cousins, Patrick Dayton Jr., Steven Dayton, April Dayton, Shannon Dayton, Lauren Sowell, Kara Sowell and Summer Caffey.

Mrs. Dorothy LaRue Hyland, 86, of West Monroe, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at Landmark Nursing Home.
Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Rux officiating. Arrangements were by Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Joseph Hyland; son, Thomas Richard Hyland; grandson, Thomas Richard Hyland II; and mother, Lillian LaRue.
Survivors include her grandson, Lomax Anderson IV; granddaughters, Amanda Stephenson, Celeste Lubenow and Wendy Dinwiddie; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gertrude S. King, 87, of West Monroe, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, in West Monroe.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe with Rev. Rick Crandall officiating. Interment was in Riverview Cemetery in Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Thomas Ralph Swenk and Joe I. Swenk; and a brother and sister.
Survivors include her daughter, Sue Kent and husband, Jack; son, Roy Swenk and wife, Pat; daughter-in-law, Janis Swenk; sister, Billie House and husband, Beau, of Lake Charles; brother, John Winn and wife, Doris, of Robeline; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Judith Gale Saxon Knowles
Mrs. Judith Gale Saxon Knowles, 69, of Downsville, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center of West Monroe after a lengthy illness.
Her funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe, with Bro. Tony Smith officiating. Interment was at Mount Zion Cemetery in Calhoun.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elinor Rebecca Harden Saxon and Cleve H. (Jack) Saxon Sr.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 52 years, George David Knowles; children, David W. Knowles and wife, Marion Kay, Richard D. Knowles and wife, Nancy and Laurie Ann Knowles Price and husband, Ricky; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Halley, Mildred Frost, Jackie Perritt, Cheryl Hood, Mary Butler and Vicki Cummings; brothers, Cleve Saxon Jr., and Robert Saxon; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Jerry "Coach" Lovett, 78 of Calhoun, passed away Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, in West Monroe.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at First Baptist Church of Calhoun with Revs. Neil Everett, Dub Massey, Hugh Diffey and Ricky Nolan officiating. Interment was at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Sarah Lovett; two brothers, Harold Lovett and Woodrow Lovett; and a sister, Florence Bronnenberg.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Joyce Williamson Lovett; three children, Jerry Lee Lovett Jr. and wife, Amelia, Julie Aswell and husband, Werner, Lori Barr and husband, Gary; brother, Clayton Lovett and wife, JoAnn; sister, Christina Markle; grandchildren; Emily Housley and husband, Jeffrey, Wesley Lovett, Taylor Aswell, Kari Aswell, Garrison Barr, Claire Barr, Ethan Barr and Jack Barr; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Owen R. Lowe, 84 of West Monroe, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, in West Monroe.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe with Revs. Tom Lowe and Jeff Luellen officiating. Interment was in Union Cemetery in Quitman.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, James Lowe and Waylon Lowe.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Lowe; six children, Ralph Lowe, Antoinette "Toni" Mullins and husband, David, Kimblea "Kim" Smalling and husband, Eddie Ray, Michael Lowe and wife, Rhonda, Christine Trahan and husband, Tim, and Bobby Martin and wife, Shelia; brothers, Wayne Lowe, Royce Lowe and Troy Lowe; sister, Lurline Farmer; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren and his special buddy, Skeeter.

Ola Melissa Dickerson Mobley
Mrs. Ola Melissa Dickerson Mobley, 96, of Winnfield, and formerly of Monroe, passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2009.
Graveside services were at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, at Riverview Cemetery with Dr. Alan Miller and Dr. Bobby Guffey officiating. Arrangements were by Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey H. Mobley Sr. and daughter, Helene Hidalgo of Baton Rouge.

Mobley Jr. and wife, Betty, of Monroe, and Dr. Frank Mobley and wife, Bobbie Jean, of Winnfield; 10 grandchildren, Mike Mobley of Oklahoma City, Okla., Martha Mobley of Monroe, Alan Mobley and wife, Mary, of Pineville, Jeanine Ford and husband, Glenn, of Winnfield, Diane Mobley of Pineville, Dr. Robert W. Jeanne Rider Pere, 78, of Monroe, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at her home after a valiant fight with cancer.
Her funeral service was at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Monroe with Rev. J. Roddy Taylor officiating. Interment was at 3 p.m. at Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport. Arrangements were by Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, John Stephen Pere. Survivors include John, her loving husband of 57 years; daughters, Susan Thompson of Monroe, Elizabeth Touchstone and husband, Mike, of Canton, Ga., and Rebecca Pere of Fort Myers, Fla.; grandchildren Cara Parker and husband, Clay, of West Monroe, John Touchstone and Will Touchstone, both of Canton, Ga.; and great-granddaughters Audrey and Alexis Parker of West Monroe.

William Samuel Walker Sr., 66, of West Monroe, passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, in West Monroe.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Wayne Walker, and brother, Shelby Dale Walker. Survivors include his wife, Janice Walker; daughter, Sheri Lynn Walker; son, William Samuel Walker Jr.; brothers, Pat and Dewayne Walker; sister, Minnie Anne Hennigan; three grandchildren, Christopher Davis, William Creech and Heather Predaina; and several niece and nephews.

Mr. Billy E. Wilson, Sr., 77, of West Monroe, passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at Northern Louisiana Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
His funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe, with Rev. Joe Solomon and Alan Robertson officiating. Interment was at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Calhoun.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Annie Wilson; brother, Chuck Wilson; and sister, Carol Norris.
Survivors include his loving wife and loyal caregiver, Helen E. Wilson. They would have been married 58 years on Feb. 18. Other survivors include daughter, Diane Cottingham and her husband, Rusty; son, Bill Wilson Jr. and his wife, Carol; grandchildren, Kelly Byran, Kris Cottingham, Whitnee Spradlin and her husband, Eric, Logan Wilson, Kristin Payton and her husband, Rod, and Ashley Knight; great-grandchildren, Colby, Hunter, Eli, Conner and Brooks; sisters, Sue Reeves and her husband, Robert, Linda Adams and her husband, Michael; sisters-in-law, Shirley Reeves and husband, Albert, Jo Evans, Nadine Frederick; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
