The Grace Episcopal School Cheerleaders won 1st place in the Non-Tumbling Division, earning the title of National Champions at the UCA 2009 National High School Cheerleading Championship this past weekend.

The National High School Cheerleading Championship (NHSCC) is the most prestigious cheerleading championship in the country.  The NHSCC is held at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, and will be nationally televised on ESPN and ESPN2.

The squad includes 8th grade cheerleaders: Lydia Bracy, Laura Dona, Jamie Ross, Lucy Shackelford. 7th grade cheerleaders: Hannah Griffin, Ashleigh Adams, Melissa Centola, Cate Creed, Kelly Newman, Anna Beth Sager, SuSu Shackelford, Katie Trettin. Head coach: Tara Knight. Assistant coaches: Stephen Martinez and Erin Taylor.
