ESU competition this weekend
The Monroe chapter of the English-Speaking Union will host the 2009 Shakespeare Competition at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, at the Young Troupe Stage of the Strauss Playhouse.
The local competition selects one winner to participate at the national competition in New York City. This year, winners from 11 local high schools will recite one sonnet and one scene from a Shakespeare play.
