Helen Aaron
Mrs. Helen "Harrison" Aaron, 80, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, in Monroe.
Her funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe with Rev. David Mayo officiating. Interment was at Monroe Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
Survivors include daughters, Claire Rundell and husband, Carroll, Sylvia Aaron and Judy White; granddaughters, Barbara, Jamie and Amy; grandsons, Eddie, Micah and Nathan; sisters, Christine Aymond, Frances Gaspard and Agnes Aymond; brothers, Harry Harrison and Charlie Harrison; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Micah and Nathan McCormack, Chris White, Eddie Flanagan, and David Mayo Jr.

Ernest Eugene Ackley
Mr. Ernest (Ernie) Eugene Ackley, 64, of Chatham, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.
His funeral was at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at Greater Apostolic Church of Eros with his brother-in-law Herman Lenard and Rev. Mildred Lenard officiating. Interment was at Chatham Cemetery in Chatham.
Survivors include his wife of almost 28 years, Shirley Lenard Ackley; daughter, Ontionette (Nettie) Truelove and husband, Johnny, of Arkansas; three stepsons, Curtis Risher and wife, Casey, of West Monroe, Chris Risher, and David Risher and wife, Michelle, of Chatham; 12 grandchildren; two sisters, Pat Rackley and husband, Bob, and Cindy Owens and husband, Mike, both of California; and one brother, Doug Ackley and wife, Pat, of Kansas.
Pallbearers were Ed Lenard, Gary Lenard, Don Lenard, Kevin Rice, Jesse Waggoner and Paul Rowls.
Honorary pallbearers were Ray Lenard and Sammy Wilson.

Yvonne C. Arnold
Yvonne C. Arnold, 47, of Monroe, was taken from this life in an automobile accident, hit by a drunk driver, on Jan. 17, 2009, in Mobile, Ala.
Her funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment was in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ira R. Arnold Sr.; and her brothers, Ira R. Arnold II and Michael C. Arnold.
Survivors include her children, Miranda Lee and Brandon Lee and wife, Kayla; granddaughters, Lillian and Aubrie Lee; mother, Anna Arnold; brothers, Garry Arnold and wife, Jean, Wayne Arnold and wife, Susan; sisters, Marian Sweet and husband, Edward, Julie Catlow and husband, Tommy, and Sandra Carradine and husband, Chris; nieces and nephews, Ira III, Tricia, Michael, Frannie, Erica, Colleen, Stacey, Clinton, Daniel, Garry Jr., Elizabeth, Cory, Gregory, Ryan, Leah, Tricia, Candi, Georgia and Cole; great nieces and nephews; and a great great niece.
Pallbearers were her nephews.
Yvonne had a love for caring for God's creations needing her, be it people or animals, and the family would request any memorials be made to Med Camps of Louisiana or the Ouachita Parish Humane Society.

Angylyn Putnam Bagley
Mrs. Angylyn (Angie) Putnam Bagley, 44, of West Monroe, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, surrounded by her family and friends.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at First Baptist Church of West Monroe with Dr. Spiller Milton and Rev. Jon Tellifero officiating. Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe.
 Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Bagley; children, Matylyn Bagley and Will Bagley; parents, Bill and Betty Putnam; brothers, John Putnam and wife, Patricia, David Putnam and wife, Ramona, Randy Putnam and wife, Sylvia, and Bubba Putnam and wife, Julie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Matthew Cameron, David Webber, Tommy Price, Kelly Frazier, Drew Kennedy and Stanley Dupuy.
Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Frenchie Lee Golsby Barbour
Funeral services for Mrs. Frenchie Lee Golsby Barbour, 84, were at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at Feazel Chapel in West Monroe, with Rev. Mark Fenn and Dr. Woods Watson officiating. Interment was at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie E. and Ruby Golsby; brother Leslie E. Golsby Jr.; husband, Larry C. Barbour; and son, Kenneth Lee Barbour.
Survivors include her daughter, Jill Ruby Barbour of Macon, Ga.; sisters, Beverly Thomas and Gloria Jones and husband, Joel, of West Monroe; brothers-in-law, Richard Newberg of Philadelphia, Penn., and Dr. Alfred Walker and wife, Janet of Baltimore, Md.
Pallbearers were from the Gideons International of Monroe.
During the services for Mrs. Barbour, a celebration of life for her son, Kenneth Lee Barbour, age 63, also took place. He passed away on Jan. 3, 2009, in Macon, Ga.
Memorials may be made to the Monroe Symphony League, the Gideons International, or the Ministry of Inspirational Therapy.
Mrs. Mary Jane Cartwright
Mrs. Mary Jane Cartwright, 70, of Monroe, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, in Monroe.
Her funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe with Bro. Donald Holloway officiating. Interment was in Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens in West Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Warren of Hickman, Ky.; father, Roy Petty of Hickman, Ky.; sister, Dorothy Love of Paducah, Ky., and sister, Brenda McDonald of Tennessee.
Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, Richard Cartwright; two sons, Darrell Cartwright and wife, Susan, of Birmingham, Ala., and Ray Cartwright of Monroe; six grandchildren, Caitlin, Sarah, Andrew, Rachael and Collin Cartwright of Birmingham, Ala., and Casey Cartwright of Monroe.
Pallbearers were Mark Lindstrom, Tommie Thomas, Mike Reeves, Gary Gowan, Walter Mitchell and Ronnie Laborde.

Leah Ann Hudson
Mrs. Leah Ann Hudson, 88, of Columbus, Ohio, and formerly of Monroe, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, after a short illness.
A memorial service was at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Job Edathinatt officiating. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Robert Taylor Hudson,Jr.; her parents; and two sisters.
Survivors include her son, Robert Hudson III and his wife, Maureen, of Ponchatoula; her daughter, Claudia Fleming of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Robert Taylor Hudson IV, Thomas Phillips and Camille Fleming; niece, Cheryl Marcotte Tilton; nephew, Frank Marcotte; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Bettye Jo Baxter Johnson
Mrs. Bettye Jo Baxter Johnson, 75, of Monroe, passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at Avalon Place.
Graveside services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Forest Hill Cemetery in Memphis, Tenn. with Rev. Bob Fruediger officiating.
Survivors include her sister, Judith Sage; niece, Carol Jo Rush; and nephew, J.T. Brueck.

Elizabeth Grace Ehlke Laatsch
Mrs. Elizabeth Grace Ehlke Laatsch, 87, of Monroe, passed away Monday, Jan. 19, 2009.
Memorial services were at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. Susan Ferguson officiating.
She was preceded in death by her husband, O.F. "Buster" Laatsch; and two sons, Walter and Fredrick.
Survivors include her adopted children, Ted Bookman and wife, Jo Ann, and David Waller and wife, Marilyn; and her sisters, Gladys Frome and Emily "Cholly" Ehlke.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Shriner's Hospitals, or the charity of choice.

Frances Permilia Lawrence
Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Permilia Lawrence, 82, of West Monroe, were at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe with Father Mark Watson officiating. Interment followed at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens in West Monroe.
Survivors include her son, W. Romand Lawrence Jr. of Tampa, Fla., and two granddaughters.

Mark DeWayne McClain
Mr. Mark DeWayne McClain, 38, of West Monroe, passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Christ Church with Rev. Tom Lowe officiating. Interment was at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria McClain; children, Micah, Hunter and Makenzie; parents, Rufus and Joyce McClain; sisters and brother, Melissa Gonzales and husband, Ed, Amy Morgan and husband, William, Angela Davis and husband, Paul, and Chris McClain; uncle, Robert Boyer; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were employees of Ex Co.

Jo Armstrong Patterson
Jo Armstrong Patterson departed this life on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, following a long illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial was said at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Monroe with visitation following the parish hall.
Survivors include her five children, William Michael Patterson and wife, Mary, Jo Anne Popham and husband, James, Mary Suzanne Back and husband Jon, Albert Edward Patterson Jr. and wife, Kaye, and Joseph Gerome Patterson; six grandchildren, Stacy Elyse Jones, Troy Russell Peloquin, Lynda Christine Jacob, Lindsey Erin Poirier, Joel David Back and Jessie Laura Back; and her three great-grandchildren, Christopher Blake Posey, Matthew Parker Posey and Ewan Michael Patterson.
The family requests that memorials be sent to the Ouachita Parish Public Library, 1800 Stubbs Avenue, Monroe, Louisiana 71201.
Lucille B. Scott
Mrs. Lucille B. Scott, 100, of West Monroe, passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Mark Fenn officiating.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Scott.
Survivors include her nieces, Jane Coats and her husband, Joe Coats, Nancy "Mousie" Cooper and her husband, George "Bear" Cooper; great nieces and nephews, William Carol Coats, James Harold Coats, Joseph Patrick Coats, Dale Wyant, Rebecca Lynn Coats, Jimmy L. Pruitt, Denora White, Anne Lynette Holcomb, Nola Regina Pruitt and Thomas Kinard; and 15 great-great nieces and nephews.

H.W. Tolson
Mr. H.W. "Buddy" Tolson, 85, of Monroe, passed away Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Lys Cockrell officiating. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Rushing Tolson.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey A. Bethea Tolson; son, Steve Tolson; brother, James Tolson and wife, Ruth; grandson, Kyle Tolson; stepsons, Virgil Floyd Bethea and wife, Regina, James Monroe Bethea and wife, Jan, T.P. Bethea and wife, Risë, Sam Alton Bethea and wife, Sallie; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Bethea Johnston and husband, David; 11 stepgrandchildren, and 14 step great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Walter Smith, Mark Walley, Gene Waalk, Barry Craft, Nick Smith, Glen Jordan and Joe Landry.

Allanah Reneé-Rose Townsend
Allanah Reneé-Rose Townsend was born Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008 and died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, in West Monroe after a sudden illness.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Hasley Cemetery with Rev. Lee DuBose officiating.
She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandmother, Leta Dubose McCarty.
Survivors include her mother, Candace Joy Townsend; grandparents, Reneé McCarty and Kenneth Northcutt and Charles Edward Townsend; great-grandparents, Kirby and Kathie McCarty, Barbara Northcutt and Cecil Wallace; aunt, Kaelynn McCarty; uncle, Gabriel Northcutt; a host of great aunts and uncles; and a very special friend, Sheila Nolan.

Jennie T. Wallace
Mrs. Jennie T. Wallace, 89, of West Monroe, passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.
Her funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, St. Paschal's Catholic Church in West Monroe, with Rev. Adrian Fischer officiating. Interment was at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Barren B. Wallace; her parents, Carlo DeStefani and Augusta Rosati; two brothers, Orlando DeStefani and Carlo DeStefani; and two sisters, Anna DeStefani Freitas and Ida DeStefani Beaulieu.
Survivors include her two sons, Barren B. Wallace and wife, Carol, of St. Cloud, Fla. and Wayne Patrick Wallace and wife, Kathleen, of West Monroe; grandchildren, Brenda Pugsley and husband, William, Brian Wallace, Todd Wallace, Elizabeth Kanan and husband, Joe, Jamie Wallace and wife, Elizabeth Zeller Wallace, Kelli Bouvier and husband, Dennis, Rebecca Wallace and Stephanie Ables and husband, Adam; two great-grandchildren, William "Billy" Pugsley and Brandon Pugsley; sister, Amelia Rummo; friends, Ouida and Ray Roberts of Hazelhurst, Miss., Doris Leban and Eva Lavigne of Woonsocket, R.I.
Pallbearers were Trey Watson, Joe Kanan, Jamie Wallace, Dennis Bouvier, Christopher Parks and Adam Ables.

Rev. Elton T. Wood Jr.
Funeral services for Rev. Elton T. Wood, Jr., 88, of Chatham, were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Chatham with Rev. Charles Dupree Jr. officiating. Interment was at Salem Cemetery in Eros under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Eileen Wood; daughter, Daisy Eileen Thomas; parents, Elton T. Wood, Sr. and Daisy Dean Wood; and two brothers, Eddie Lee Wood Sr., and Calvin L. Wood.
Survivors include his wife, Angie Fisher Wood; sons, Dewey Wood and wife, Mary Alice, and Frank Wood and wife, Cheri; daughter, Marlene Gibson and husband, Buddy; son, Barry Fisher and wife, Brenda; daughters, Judy Goss and husband, Charles, and Melanie Amrhein and husband, Mike; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Faye Munn; brother, Floyd Mirrie Wood; sisters-in-law, Lois Childers, Betty Wood and Louise Wood.
Pallbearers were grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were Earl Stuckey, Greg Freeland, Dean Baugh and the deacons of First Baptist Church of Chatham.
