Robert "Bob" Bruce passed away from this world on Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, surrounded by his loved ones, following an extended illness.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Dean McGough Bruce; children, Monica McGough Ingram and her husband, Scott, Doris McGough Becton and husband, Barry, and Larry McGough and wife, Debbie; and grandchildren, Beau Becton along with Haley and Lawren McGough.
Services and interment were held Saturday, Jan. 10, with Rev. Dennis Anger officiating. Pallbearers were Barry Becton, Ollie Dean, Bob Eads, Sherman Harrelson, Scott Ingram and David Thiels.

Horace Q. Buckley Jr.
Mr. Horace Q. "Buddy" Buckley Jr., 65, of West Monroe, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe, with his nephew Rev. Charles Dupree officiating. Interment was at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Helen White Buckley; son, Horace "Buddy" Buckley III of Houston, Texas; daughter, Vicky Buckley Chelette and husband, Dale, of West Monroe; two grandchildren, Alyssa Marie Chelette and Justin Dale Chelette of West Monroe; and sisters, Inez Cavey of Baltimore, Md., Jane Dupree of Swartz and Corda Queen of West Monroe.
Honorary pallbearers were Rex Rugg, Jessie Flower, Robert Murphy, Dale Chelette, Kerry Moulder and A.J. Corrent.

Mrs. Lula Mae Hale Graham succumbed to kidney disease on November 12, 2008.
Survivors include her three children, Author Hale and wife, Kanda, of Washington, Mitchell Hale and wife, Debbie of Alaska, and Ronni Marzolf and husband, Bill of Louisiana; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Jesse of Epps and Eva of Monroe; brother, John of Florida; and numerous other family.
Frances R. Howard
Mrs. Frances R. Howard, 84, of West Monroe, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, in West Monroe after a lengthy illness.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Hasley Cemetery with Rev. Milton Pray officiating.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Tommy L. Howard and Jerry R. Howard.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Floyd D. Howard; son, Stephen K. Mrs. Geraldine "Jerry" Aulds Howard, 79, of Rocky Branch, passed away Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, in West Monroe.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Rocky Branch Church of Christ with Bro. Don Delukie, Bro. Larry White and Bro. Jerry Lee officiating.
Interment was at Rocky Branch Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kelton Howard and parents, Ira and Carrie Aulds.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen Stephens and husband, Brent, Pamela Hodges and husband, Ronnie, and Suzanne Calk and husband, Mark; sister, Francis Kennedy and husband, Euell; seven grandchildren, Bart Miller, Kellye Bergeron, Gabe Smith, Misti O'Neal, Tara Riley, Rachel Deichmann and Jon Wayne Stephens; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. June Knight Ivy, 70, of Farmerville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009.
Her funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Kibbey Hatfield officiating. Interment was in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Katherine Knight; daughter, Amy Jeanette Ivy; three grandchildren, Christopher Glen, Erica Lynn, and Katherine June Guinbellot.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Lavelle Ivy; two daughters, Kathi McGaugh and husband, David, and Tracey Ivy; two brothers, Ben Knight of Monroe and George Knight and wife, Lisa, of Missouri; grandchildren, Davey McGaugh and wife, Amanda, Jesse McGaugh and Samuel Tyler McGaugh; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lyle Auston Malloy, 88, of Windsor, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, at the Windsor Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Windsor.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Hasley Memorial Pavilion in West Monroe. Arrangements were by Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Mae Harris, in 1972; a grandson, Jacob Terrill Culpepper; two brothers, Carl Columbus Malloy Jr. and John Harold Malloy; and two sisters, Martha Louise Stuckey and Annette Paulk.
Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Gay Seward and her husband, Tennie, of Windsor, Mo.; Pamela Kay Foster and her husband, J.W., of Downsville; a son, Lyle Auston Malloy Jr., of Louisiana; two grandchildren, Emily Louise Foster and Elijah Jerrell Foster; two brothers, Joe Roy Malloy of Washington state; George Edward Malloy of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special niece, Rebecca Riser, whom he raised with his wife.

Mrs. Rosa P. Morrow, 90, of Winnsboro, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.
Her funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Winnsboro with Rev. Daniel Corkery officiating. Interment was in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell A. Morrow and brother, Francis J. Palumbo.

Mrs. Lola Bee Porter, 84, of Downsville, passed away Jan. 13, 2009, in Monroe.

John A. Silkman Sr.
John A. Silkman Sr., 96, died on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Miss.
A memorial service was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Grace Episcopal Church in Monroe under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Baltimore, Md., at a later date.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Magness Silkman. Survivors include a son, Tim Silkman, and a daughter-in-law, Brenda Draughn Silkman, of Petal, Miss.; three grandchildren, Hannah Silkman Bell of Gulfport, Miss., Austen Silkman of Dallas, Texas, and Evan Silkman of Hyde Park, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Capt. M.M. Smith; sons, Robert Smith and Courtney Smith; daughter, Lucille Hebert; son in-law, Sherman Johnston; and grandsons, Kenneth Smith and Robert Keith Smith.
